It is.Hey, that's racist!
... err... is it?
Interesting. Any thoughts, like racist perhaps?
But there's a difference between race and those other factors. Vegetarians have never been lynched for being vegetarians. Bibliophiles haven't been made to sit at the back of the bus. #athleteslivesmatter isn't a thing.I don't find it racist. As others have said there are other sites exclusively for those of other races so I don't see the difference. People are attracted to different things physically and who is anyone to say it is wrong for a person to feel they are solely attracted to those of the same race? Some of us may find it strange or that they are missing out on meeting certain other people, but we all have to admit, we all have our "types". just because some of us aren't as concerned with skin color doesn't mean that we don't have body types, or hair colors, or so on that we do and do not care for. We break people down into all kinds of things when it comes to attraction, both physically and mentally. I wouldn't be surprised if there were dating sites for Liberals, Conservatives, vegetarians, athletes, comic book fans, bibliophiles (one I may have used in my single days), Trekkies, and more.
So dating sites for black folk only is because they're still lynched, or have to sit at the back of the bus?Vegetarians have never been lynched for being vegetarians. Bibliophiles haven't been made to sit at the back of the bus. #athleteslivesmatter isn't a thing.

There's still an in-group/out-group dynamic in American society, and creating a service that not only caters to the in-group but seems to be aimed at preserving the divide between the in-group and out-group implicitly endorses the in-group/out-group dynamic in a way that a similar service for an out-group wouldn't do.
So there's that side of it. How big a deal this is to people probably depends on how big a deal they think racism is in the US right now.
A dating site aimed exclusively at one race (whether white, black or anything else) strikes me as distasteful.
Then again, there's a lot about dating sites that strikes me as distasteful.
Aye, we should know better than making the same mistake twice. The sites that I find distasteful are the dating sites for married people.
One could argue that the need for one for Straight Caucasian Americans is extremely superfluous given how we're, you know, over-whelmingly the dominant group in the US.

Yep, definitely agree with you there.
Interesting. Any thoughts, like racist perhaps?“It’s our [the site's owner, Sam Russell] right to have this business,” he replied — the “we” presumably referring to white people, generally. “If we want equal rights in this country, it has to be equal rights for everybody.”
“It’s about equal opportunity,” Russell explained. “The last thing in the world I am is racist. I dated a black woman once. I helped raise a young black man … I just believe it’s hypocrisy to say ‘one group can do this, but another can’t.'”
Russell points to his site’s recent traffic as evidence that others agree: More than 100,000 people visited White People Meet on Sunday, and — as of this writing — 1,033 people have registered to browse the site for free. (Russell would not share how many had actually become paying members.) He insists that the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive thus far; it’s the people criticizing him, he says, who don’t truly understand the true nature of race and racism.

I dunno. Any Black, Latino, Asian only dating sites around?
I think some of them might just be thoughtless. Some people just don't realize how many gay and bi people are around them. I think that might be the case in some regards with race (e.g. "skin coloured" bandages that are only skin-coloured for white people), but in this case, they're at least conscious enough of other races to deliberately exclude them.I like dating men and women. Plenty of dating sites on the internet market themselves as only catering to hetero matching. It certainly reinforces heteronormative behaviors but I am hesitant to call them homophobic or biphobic. Maybe I'm missing something.
I get offended by people who easily get offended. *Grin*I think people get offended way to easily.
That's offensive!I get offended by people who easily get offended. *Grin*

No. Try reading again, this time for comprehension. So dating sites for black folk only is because they're still lynched, or have to sit at the back of the bus?
