Actually, I have heard some of that. But there are some crazier notions that are not as widely known among all Christians.Didn't you hear? Christians are all perfect beings without flaws thanks to the mighty power of Jesus!

Only that which we do for others has lasting significance.
Those things which we do only for ourselves die along with ourselves. Those things which we do for others continue impacting their lives, and the lives of those they touch, after we ourselves have passed.LOL. No it doesn't.

If you don’t understand this simple concept you have my sincere pity.
I am all for mercy. I believe God the Creator has revealed His wisdom for the way in which human beings function best and He will guide anyone to that wisdom when they desire and seek. This is why God is the most merciful...Because he made human beings to be creatures who naturally act according to their nature. God knows we lust. God knows we masturbate and God knows that we have carnal pleasures because of our nature. He designed us this way. I even believe when we turn from our Creator he love us more because we don't know any better.....
You gotta have mercy bro bro
I am not judging anyone and that was not my purpose for this thread. I just think the harmful effects of porn on attitudes of men and women who view it, real life human relationships, men's sexual health, young people, even children now, and the demand it creates for more and more extreme and/or violent sexual images and the connection to human sex trafficking is an important issue worth addressing. At least people may consider different perspectives and think about the negative consequences of pornography on others, even themselves. To each his own. Why judge people? I don’t judge people who smoke even though I hate the smell of it and it can actually kill them.
No, Western kids are extremely sheltered compared to past eras and other cultures. Even the notion of childhood is a modern social construct (hence, why they used to make kids work in factories and such before child labor was banned). Kids would've known about sex and death from the beginning for most of human history. What I am saying is that what they are exposed to is much more different from what many generations before were exposed to - and not necessarily in any good way.
This thread was not about judging, condemning anyone, or having no mercy.

I just think exposing things which are harmful is important and education helps people possibly see things from a different perspective and make different choices which in the long run may help themselves and others rather than hurt.
Are you kidding me? Women love porn!
You have any idea how much money boob streamers make?
Men aren't degraded, they're just poor-er. Lol. Suckers.
Women become the center of attention and admiration. They only have to 'work' one or two days a week.
If I was female, I'd be right in there with them dancing with the girls.
Generation Porn is a deeply unsettling look into the impact of internet porn
In order to stand out in a crowded genre, porn documentaries must reveal something surprising and new. It is a triumph for the makers of Generation Porn on Channel 4, therefore, that within the first few minutes of episode one, we are hit with a startling fact about Twitter. “What people don’t realise about Twitter,” boss of cult porn series Fake Taxi Joe Todd shrugs, “is it’s one of the biggest porn sites in the world.” Todd divulges this information in a matter-of-fact way after demonstrating how a 13-year-old child can, in a couple of clicks, alter their privacy and safety settings on Twitter to gain access to hardcore pornographic videos.
Like many other sites - Facebook, Instagram, Google Images, etc., perhaps?
Unsettling footage in Prague, where Fake Taxi is filmed, shows Todd and his father Jonathan standing hip to hip, watching a porn film being shot. Todd appears to have conflicted feelings about how easily youngsters can access hardcore pornography. Although he worries about the impact porn could have on children, a big part of Joe’s job is to post Fake Taxi videos to hundreds of thousands of Twitter followers. Jonathan appears to have less of a conscience. When asked if he feels responsible for making porn so accessible to young people, the co-founder of YouPorn comes up with a garbled argument, suggesting that the finger of blame might as well be pointed at “poor” Hugh Hefner. At which point the camera pans to Joe, who visibly flinches at his father’s response.
If-not-me-then-some-other is I believe a valid defence - for morons.

Does pornography still drive the internet?
Not necessarily the largest player but perhaps has more of a foothold (and influence) than it should (one in seven searches?).

Police 'overwhelmed' by child sex abuse image cases call for new approach as thousands of paedophiles seek help
Police leaders have called for a new approach to the rising number of people who view child sex abuse images online, as thousands of paedophiles seek help to stop their behaviour. At least 400 people are arrested over indecent images of children every month in England and Wales and record numbers of photos and videos are being reported. Law enforcement agencies are struggling to cope with cases, prompting the government to support programmes aiming to rehabilitate convicted paedophiles or prevent them offending. One charity has been contacted by more than 5,000 people seeking help to stop viewing child sex abuse images. The charity has seen record visits to its support website.
Ms Thornhill said the fear of being labelled a paedophile and ostracised made people unwilling to discuss their online behaviour, but that there were a “range of motivations” for viewing child sex abuse images. “Some men say they’ve been looking at pornography for a long time and they’ve become desensitised, so start looking for more and more extreme images,” she said.

Why children should be wary of live-streaming
The NSPCC survey - the first of its kind - suggests use of video chats and live-streaming among children has risen rapidly. Some 29% of secondary school children have broadcast themselves online according to the findings - almost three times a previous estimate, by Ofcom, that suggested one in 10 children aged 12 to 15 had live-streamed. The charity said the rise was likely to be down to the introduction of live-streaming capabilities on some of the biggest social media platforms. The NSPCC said it was now calling on the government to create an independent regulator to force social networks into introducing measures that make children safer. Of the children surveyed who had video-chatted with someone they had not met, one in 10 had been asked to get undressed. Some 19% of primary school children surveyed had live-streamed, with 8% of those saying that another person live-streaming was semi-naked at the time. One girl, aged 10-11, told the charity: "My friend was doing a live-stream and an adult man was asking for her to video request him, so she did and he showed his private parts." Another girl, aged 11-12, said while on video chat "this man was pulling, touching, and showing his privates".
Children under 13 groomed on live streams
The Internet Watch Foundation conducted an investigation between August and October 2017, where it discovered 2,082 sexual abuse images sourced through live streaming. Of that sample group, 28% of the children were between seven and 10 years old, and 69% of the victims were between 11 and 13 years old.
I'm sure just as many links can be found for evidence showing that porn has not had any great effect since its arrival on the internet, and it is difficult to prove causation, but I'm more than suspicious that it has had and is having quite a negative effect. Opinion of course. And children have always been abused, so why is it important that just another method is being used? Perhaps because internet porn might be encouraging it.
That does not look like a very reliable source. How do we know that is not the made up claims of an anti-porn activist? It is clearly not an unbiased source. Did you go to the home page? Here is an excellent article written by a woman who has lived in and come out of the porn industry...
"There is a prevailing belief in our culture that porn is not only harmless, but empowering to the women involved. The line of thinking goes something like this: “Women in porn are consenting adults, doing this by choice. They are empowered by virtue of their sexually liberation. And good for them for using what ‘God gave them’ to get …"

IS PORN EMPOWERING TO THE WOMEN INVOLVED?
Did you? I did and I find it reliable. I read the account of the woman who started it and her own experience in the sex industry. It looks like she works with victims of sexual exploitation , as well as with various law enforcement agencies. That does not look like a very reliable source. Appreciate your thoughts. So with all the negativity about porn on this thread, I will say yes anytime a woman has to make a film and has to perform a sex act oral sex intercourse or any of that type of thing then yes she has to be submissive and subjects herself to abuse. The person shes with whom she doesn't even know could become very abusive off the set its dangerous.
However when it comes to soft porn magazines, Play boy or Play girl with the men, Penthouse etc,,,,,,,,,,I don't see the issue, women aren't committing a sex act with a stranger and I do not believe Playboy bunnies are abused. Just my two cents.
Appreciate your thoughts.
Can you say "confirmation bias"? If a woman involved in the porn industry wrote a piece about her personal experience being positive and empowering, would you give it the same credence? Here is an excellent article written by a woman who has lived in and come out of the porn industry...
