Democracy is Dead

I say...every politician should publish a manifesto
as he enters public life

and the public will hold him to it

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I say....every politician should issue a manifesto

publish said work as he enters public life

then the voters will hold him to it
I think the issue is accountibility. If people would actually hold politicians accountable, things would go smoother I think.

Right now there is no fear of repercussions.

I gave this thread my thoughts already, concerning Patriotism. I have to go further, I mean I said opening the vote isn't actually a Patriotism to the Institution of Government, and the Andrew Jackson the last pre-born American Revolutionary started non-land based male votes, but voting isn't a sign of loyalty, that's a tribute by government to the people for Their power in government, its not a loyalty, and the last devotion to Constitution and the 50 stars from 13 colonies resides in some Senate or forum with equal footing of the States.

I'll go further about our sick view of Democracy. North Korea has the right technical idea about Democracy. The workers are required to Be Active party members to go Place the vote that has 100% population in a useless one party election that returns 100% for Kim Jung somebody or Kim Il somebody. That's technically ancient Democracy. Participation is assigned with lots for active assignment in Government with Duty at individual levels not built on the popular shoulders of representatives to labor as government.

so says Lester Thurow in his 2004 speech

and explains that representation of senators ….two per state
does not represent the voting majority

The Senate represents the states not the nation.

our founding fathers would be appalled
as California having soooooo many people
is represented by only two people in Senate

Wrong. That is why the FF created the House of Representatives. Basic US history here.

but the fathers did not for see California as the fifth largest
economy on the planet

Irrelevant point about the economy. The House is designed to account for population changes.

the smaller states …..Republican for the most part
carry the vote in that manner

Irrelevant.

that is not the voting majority

The Senate is not about the national vote but the vote of those in those States.

rebuttals?

A clear example of ignorance of the system being discussed by presenting it as something it was never designed for. Yawn. Lester either failed or never took civic 101

No I clearly said the person in question is ignorant about the system being discussed thus is attacking a strawman.
