Democracy is Hypocrisy!

That and it isn't smart to start an argument with a quote and then contradict that same very source with additional opinions.

The thing that is important to understand is that Malcolm X was addressing African Americans at a certain point in time in which America was hypocritical in concerning equal rights to all beings, thus the hypocrisy. It is not safe to assume that Malcolm X was attempting to describe a situation fifty years in the future or in any propagating a caliphate, which seems to be Sufi's intentions.

I agree that its not necessary at all that he was talking about anything except the situation in that particular time, addressing the hypocrisy of people who won't apply democracy to all American citizens.

I will have to reply to this one in the next couple of days.

No problem, take your time.

Well, as the saying goes.. democracy is the worst form of government except for all the others.

This statement is very true. Democracy is a very imperfect way to run a country. It is messy, ugly and Inefficient. The one advantage secular democracy has over all other political ideologies the system self removes Tyrants. The folks in power must keep a large percentage of the population happy enough not to vote them out of office and run out of town.

You have to view his speech in its historical context. At the time black people were denyed many rights, had limited freedoms, and were treated as second class citizens. He was right to accuse American democracy at the time as hypocritical. I do however disagree with his assertion that black people were always the victims of power mad white police. I don't think he meant to imply that democracy in general is a flawed political system.

Sorry if I've repeated what has been said before, I didn't completely read the previous seven pages of posts.
