I do not think our friend understands why there are 'hidden messages' in prophecies. He thinks they should be easy for everyone to decipher, like a car repair manual, not open to interpretation.
I don't really understand why either. Seems to be a test. Both a warning (law), and a guide (map).
Prophecy is the hidden message (code) from the sender to the receiver that is not open to interpretation.
The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. Psalm 14:2
O ye who believe! Allah doth but make a trial of you in a little matter of game well within reach of game well within reach of your hands and your lances, that He may test who feareth him unseen: any who transgress thereafter, will have a grievous penalty. Muhammad 5:94
They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon. Jeremiah 50:42
They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion. Jeremiah 6:23
The Sea is Spear/Lance
The Horse is Bow.
"Higher people hear of the Tao they diligently practice it.
Average people hear of the Tao they sometimes keep it and sometimes lose it.
Lower people hear of the Tao they laugh loudly at it.
If they do not laugh, it would not be the Tao".
Lao Tzu.
My teachings are easy to understand and easy to put into practice. Yet your intellect will never grasp them, and if you try to practice them you'll fail. My teachings are older than the world. How can you grasp their meaning? If you want to know me, look inside your heart.
My words are very easy to understand, very easy to put into practice, yet the world can neither understand nor practice them.
My words have a clue, my actions have an underlying principle. It is because men do not know the clue that they understand me not.
Some say that my teaching is nonsense. Others call it lofty but impractical. But those who have looked inside themselves, this nonsense makes perfect sense. And those who put it into practice, this loftiness has roots that go deep.
