Why should we believe that? The creation story in Genesis doesn't pretend to be a history lesson. It's allegory. We accept it for what it is, glean the truth from it, and move on. Really, when did I every say I didn't believe in the Vedas. I said I didn't believe the Qur'an or Bible. I may not be Hindu but I give the Vedas way more credit the the Qur'an. The reason way I call it a lie is because I know what Hindus have to say about it and I think it's better to trust someone of that faith to know more about it then someone making up stuff about it that they know nothing about.

We don't believe it, because we're not constrained to believe it. The Bible also says that believing in Jesus as God Incarnate is the only way one will achieve eternal life. You want me to believe that? Because, if I do, then you're in real trouble. No virgins for you! Only suffering for eternity.

Good thing for you I don't believe that, either. Because the Bible is more than its constituent parts. In order to garner the message of the Bible, it must be read in context, taking everything into consideration.

All things considered, God is rather unconcerned about the flat-earth theory, and is more concerned about the state of our souls.
