Did God say that?! I Rape in the bible

If an Islamic person wants to "discuss, compare and debate" attitudes to rape in Christian scripture he must accept that attitudes to rape in Islamic culture will be brought up.
Fairness says Christian scripture compared to Islamic scripture, not to what you hear in the media that may or may not be true. The Bible vs the Qur'an.

Alright then, can you explain to me why if this act is not part of Islam why does it happen predominantly in countries or among people who are supposedly Islam? You don't blame Islam, but these things are committed predominantly be those who claim to be following Islam. I have not heard of a person of any other religion stoning a woman for being raped.
Again, you can show us a Qur'anic verse or hadith that says the raped woman is to be punished/stoned and I am all ears.
Does every action of every Muslim or government that rules some Muslims represent Islam?
Aren't there repressive corrupted undemocratic unIslamic regimes that rule Muslims? Aren't there Muslims who commit crimes? Aren't there Muslims who disobey Allah?

If I drank Alcohol, would this mean Islam approves drinking Alcohol?!

But honestly, I can't imagine a court in the world that acknowledge that a woman is raped and then sentence a punishment on her for being raped, no matter how primitive the ruling regime.
If something like this happened, it would be insanity...and it would be more and more insanity to blame Islam for this.

I feel for you, Not4me. It must be difficult when a deranged Muslim comes to RF, pees on the carpet and you are left to clean up their mess. It is a great tragedy to see all your good work get trashed yet again.

Keep up the good work, Sport.

I can't imagine it either, but it does happen. Here are a few links for you.

Somalia is a dreadful place and this sounds absolutely awful.

How did the woman in Iran fare, this story is a little old.

It is my beleif that Sharia does not exist anywhere on this planet, the laws (if you can call them that) in Somalia are made up by the monsters who perpetrated this killing of this poor girl, whether they claim its Islamic or not the fact is its more to do with Somalia than its to do with the Quran.

The same goes for Iran .

as an example have you heard of the Lords Resistance Army and how do you think they reflect on Christianity .

PS: An Update on the Iranian woman.

According to an Amnesty International report: "In November 2006, [Iran's] Supreme Court ruled that the trial verdict was based on insufficient or incomplete evidence, and overturned the sentence of execution by stoning. The case was returned to a lower court for a retrial. In late July or August 2008, the court ruled that Shamemeh Ghorbani should not be stoned to death, but instead she received a sentence of 100 lashes. She was released from prison in Oroumiye, western Iran, where she had been held since 2005, but her sentence may still be implemented.

"What I hear in the media"? Can you please tell me whether you believe Islamic women are not stoned / drowned / beaten / burned to death for losing (or appearing to lose) their virtue? Are you saying all those links to examples of this happening were lies?

A little clarity on your opinion regarding violence toward women in primarily Islamic countries would help move this discussion forward.

I'm not particularly interested in comparing a book to another book. Faith, belief, ethics, morality, goodness, etc. is expressed through the behavior of the believer, not by their holy book. I mean, a person's favorite book will tell you something about them, but a person's behavior will tell you everything.

I'm not defending Christians, here. IMO all the Abrahamic religions are as bad as each other in most ways. I mean, "Christians" might not lash or stone rape victims, but they are more than happy to bomb countries filled with non-Christians, killing women, infants, men, grandparents indiscriminately for their beliefs.

I suppose what I'm really trying to say is, "pot, meet kettle". Whatever your holy books say, Abrahamic religions do not appear to have any beneficial effect on human behavior.

The only one who's saying that the Bible contains "God teaching us to rape." None of the rest of us believe that. None of the rest of us see it. This is a classic straw man argument. Except that you just knocked down your own straw man...
Outstanding!
