Did you read Quran neutrally?

nameless

The Creator
Nobody knows the hidden except God. If your intentions are good and you are really looking for the truth then God will certainly guide you to His truth and path.
Who knows may be one day I shall call you my brother :D

who knows? for the reason your intentions are good, if god guides you to Odion's path, you could leave all your existing brothers and become sister of Odion :D

it is said that in paradise allah rewards men with virgins and wine to enjoy. I wonder how females would get rewarded in paradise.

All the more reason it is difficult to read neutrally.
That show Faux News comes to mind, unfair and unbalanced....:areyoucra

I dont see who anyone can "get" anything out of he Quran unless they have some idea of what the book is supposed to be in the first place, Kind of "read this, its the word of god".

If you pick it up in complete ignorance without knowing anything of its background i think it would have little effect on people.

Assuming Allah exist now... It is not a duty more then it is a duty to obey and respect ones parents. Which depends entierly on the character on ones parents and the given context.

We are commanded to respect our parents and deal well with them and obey them except in things that are against the religion.
Obeying God is different because I am obeying the Creator who is all-knowing and perfect. Thus, all His commands are to be obeyed.

so in a nutshell, you are good because you hope for reward and not because you fear punishment?

I am good because Allah has created good in me. And I am good because Allah loves those who are good and orders us to be good. So I obey God and long for His reward.

islam is about believeing in the unseen and in the seen, so there is no option other than to follow islam blindly, if one is not capable for blind belief he is so unfortunate and god will take him to hell for the torture. Knowing all these we should become as blind as possible to avoid suffering.

One has to be farsighted to believe in Islam.
It is actually you who is now in a state of blindness.

You see, Kai, that is exactly how I read it the first time. I knew it was regarded as being the "word of god" and that was why I was so unimpressed.

and for non-believers

if hell is created for punishing criminals, then why islamic laws wants the criminals to be punished in here too?

If the criminals are punished in this life and they repent for what they did then they will not be punished in the hereafter.

may be in the paradise, not in this world of suffering. We wont find any such thing protecting and providing us.

may be that's due to your blindness so you are uncapable to see God's bounties.

why we should worship one who does partiality, why we are elevated while others are not?

Do you want to be equated to a fly ?
Allah is fair and Just!

and this is blind belief

It is in fact a wise belief :)

Go and search what Islam says about Paradise and the reward that awaits the believers both males and females before talking ignorance.

I wonder how females would get rewarded in paradise

You can't even dream of what's awaiting the believers both men and women in Paradise.
I have a generous God who gives more than what we actually deserve!

I am a Muslim and I will die as a Muslim incha'Allah!
I won't leave my religion for anything in this world.
Islam is my life and my soul and of course I cannot live in this life without my soul.
Every drop of blood that runs in my veins and every pulse in my heart and all my organs in my body submit to their creator and testify to His Oneness and say " I am a Muslim and proud to be"!

Well, that may be your assessment but do not expect anyone to draw the same conclusion.

I am good because that is just what I am, good, and that is what I want to be. Rewards or punishments are irrelevant to that.
