Some Sanders supporters will vote third party -- or not vote at all -- because of this and other things that were done to Sanders. But I think most realize that a Trump presidency would be catastrophic for the nation and the world, and will vote for Clinton despite their distaste for her.

Based on my small community I interact with, that sounds about right from us folks on the left. AKA #TeamGoodGuys :D

I feel so sorry for you folks, this time around the block. What absolutely horrible choices.

That goes both ways. I think if Romney was running in this election or McCain (minus Palin), I think they would both has decent shots because they could pull in centrists-shallow left who don't like the hawk. Both parties got the shaft this time.

That seams to suggest an equivalency that I reject. We have a choice between an ethically challenged candidate and a narcissistic disaster.
Now, now, don't be quite so disparaging of Hillary. A disaster, perhaps, but not sure about the narcissistic thingy. :D

Thank God for WikiLeaks. Nice timing.
Julian Assange deserves to be knighted by our president.
(Let's just ignore his not being Americastanian or that we don't knight people.)
Our country never had a better friend.
OK....knight Edward Snowden too.
These guys shine the light which makes the roaches scurry.

It looks like it may have been purposeful timing, and CNN has noted the possibility that Russia was involved. Stay tuned.
Wow. That "reset" she did with Russia really was a beautiful example of "smart power" in action, eh? That woman is just SO impressive.

One can be certain that both sides will release info timed for maximum damage to the other side.
It's always been this way, & always will.
Putin is just a possible new player.

Do you think Putin prefers Donald to Hillary?

Was that a serious question?
Yes.
The reason I ask is that I'd expect Putin to find Trump more dangerous a foe than Hillary.
But if he timed the leak to harm her, this would be inconsistent.
I was curious what you thought.

Sometimes a question is merely about seeking its answer.

Revelation all the time
Wasserman-Schultz is gone (from speaking at convention, at least). Bernie suddenly has more power to influence direction, and if not shown to be explicitly the case (during the convention) would likely mean a bunch of ramifications for the party. Though 'likely' is too strong a word in this election cycle where everything likely is truly hard to argue for. One would think Bernie voters would be so dismayed as to consider not voting for Dems, but even I recognize it's not really them voting for Dems as much as voting against Trump.

In every election cycle that I can remember, there is political fodder that has public attention swing back and forth. This one strikes me as more of that, with much bigger (negative) items being brought up. It's like we already realized 6 months ago that neither candidate was perceived as favorable and each day that goes by, it becomes even more about taking sides with news that let's us know just how unfavorable the person we are siding with actually is.

Though with all that said, my bias says the Pubs are likely to have a better convention unless Dems can pull off a lot of hocus pocus. I know die hard liberals will think it wonderful, but after that, I honestly see it as questionable how it will come off. Here's hoping it's a flop.
