I have read several of the emails posted and I have to say, I'm a little underwhelmed so far. Maybe I just haven't seen the worst emails yet. However, I fear that once again, just as we saw with Benghazi and with Clinton's emails, the Right is going to make so many mountains out of molehills that it will become difficult for an objective observer to cut through the noise and discern what (if any) substantial wrongdoing has been perpetrated.
For example, this one:
https://wikileaks.org/dnc-emails/emailid/10928
Based on what is contained in the email chain, it looks like the DNC asked RealClearPolitics to clarify this sentence:
"DNC leaders refused to reconsider their decision not to allow this, adjourned, and fled the building amid a chorus of boos; leaving hotel security and local police officers to handle the angry Sanders supporters."
It was changed to read this:
"State party chair and DNC executive committee member Roberta Lange refused to reconsider their decision not to allow this, adjourned, and fled the building amid a chorus of boos; leaving hotel security and local police officers to handle the angry Sanders supporters."
What, exactly, is the problem here? There's no indication the DNC did anything beyond complain about, what appears to be, an imprecise and inaccurate characterization in an article.
But if you assume the DNC is evil to begin with, take some of the emails out of context and sprinkle in a little suggestion, it's easy to see how the imagination can be filled with all sorts of sinister goings-on that are not actually proved.
Again I don't have any desire to defend the DNC or any reason to believe they haven't done nefarious things. On that, I am still deciding. What I know for sure is that Republicans are going to exaggerate the heck out of it.
