Do Christians Secretly Believe Jesus Walks Among Us?

Jimmy

No, they actually believe as they say. They believe he literally died, rose bodily from the grave and is in Heaven with the Father until he returns at the end of time. That's orthodox Christian belief. They're not pretending or lying, and it's rude to presume that they are to suit your own novel beliefs.
Is that what you believed when you were a Christian. You’re young so I’m guessing it was. As one ages they gain wisdom and the things they know deepen.

That is the dogma of the Catholic Church and all main Christian bodies. I had to accept it as a matter of faith to become a Catholic. It has nothing to do with age. Your thought have apparently "deepened" so much, they've separated you from all other people.

Sure kids accept it but the point of Christianity is to grow and to get to know “Jesus”. Kids don’t really know much. Life is a learning experience. I’m hardly separated. I have a firm grasp on what people are thinking. I know what you think about Jesus. That he was a dude from 2000 yrs ago.

I was 17 when I converted and it was my decision. I went through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). I wasn't a kid, and don't know why you assumed that. You're sounding patronizing.

You clearly don't.

17 is a kid. I know what you think about Jesus. You think he was a guy that lived 2000 years ago. Patronizing? No. realistic? Yes. Kids don’t know much they don’t know how to fix cars, build houses, swim etc. they have to learn all this stuff. Same with spiritual stuff. Unless Of course you gifted and learned everything young.

17 is not a kid, you're being very rude and not understanding what I'm saying. I'm very close to putting you on ignore and being done with it, if you don't want to actually have a dialogue.

I remember being 17. I’m a lot wiser now. So you think I’m rude because I think 17-year-olds aren’t as wise as 30 and 40 yr olds? I’m not going to change my mind about that so Go ahead put me on ignore.

Because you're not ****ing listening to what I am saying. Nothing I believed had anything to do with my age. That's some irrelevant garbage you brought up, mistakenly. Christianity is a creedal religion. Go look up the Nicene Creed. It's basically the yardstick of what makes someone Christian (although tiny sects will disagree). You have to accept the Creed to be a member of the Catholic Church. It doesn't matter if you're 17 or 80, and trying to join the Catholic Church - you have to accept the same doctrines as true. The beliefs I mentioned are just normative Christian belief.

I understand that you think all Christians believe the Creed. That’s where you and I differ.

One side note question regarding this Christian creed as you call it. You don’t have to answer.

If Christian’s believe Jesus literally died, rose bodily from the grave and is in heaven with the father until he returns at the end of time what “other” things do you think their capable of believing and hiding? Just a little something to mull over.

I’m not thoroughly convinced you believe that. I don’t know if you’re just saying that for some kind of hidden respect for others in their journey in finding “Christ”. The the way I see it, why not just cut to the chase, save everyone some time and just say who the “Christ” is and what he’s all about.
Actually, I do believe the Gospel account of Jesus’ death on the cross, burial, and resurrection from the dead to pay for the sins of the world and offer forgiveness and eternal life to whosoever believes and trusts Him as their Savior. I did not always understand or believe this, but the day I did I came to know Jesus Christ in a very real and personal way. I was blind, but then I knew Him. My entire perspective, understanding, and life changed that day over 30 years ago.
Since you asked…Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who became human in order to save humanity and offer new eternal life. That’s what Jesus Christ is all about.

I'm not paranoid and don't think that people are lying and hiding their real beliefs like you do.

I’m not paranoid. I call it the way I see it. If you can keep a straight face when someone tells you they believe a man rose from his grave that’s your business.

I don’t deny there’s people like you who literally believe a guy rose from his grave 2000 years ago but I also think there’s many who know this “Jesus” as a real living man on earth. Surely someone of your intellect can see both of these “far out” ideas as likely existing.

BTW kudos to you for believing someone conquered death. That’s a BIG thing to believe. Real BIG. Some might even say, it has even deeper implications considering the strangeness of its premise. I know I would. When somebody tells me a man rose from the grave, I give it thought.

If a Christian tells you they believe a man rose from the grave 2000 years ago or even in other religions when they tell you they believe something that one could consider as being kind of far out shouldn’t we question what they really believe? Shouldn’t we question what they’re withholding? I mean, after all they’re making some pretty outrageous claims no? Doesn’t that make you wonder what they might really believe? What they might be hiding? I mean, after telling you that they believe a man rose from the grave they kind of lost all credibility no?

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

You seem to think that many Christians are making outrageous claims so they must be hiding something. That hasn't been my experience at all (that many Christians are hiding something).

Any human being, who believes a man walked out of a tomb is libel to believe anything. Furthermore anyone who believes a man walked out of a tomb, I will question their sincerity.

What are they really thinking and believing? Always question this. I think, without questioning one who tells you that a man rose from the grave one will never learn about what they’re really thinking.

OK go ahead and believe this if you like.
