Do Christians Secretly Believe Jesus Walks Among Us?

walt

Jesus is King & Mighty God Isa.9:6-7; Lk.1:32-33
We can talk tomorrow, I think it is good to learn information from all the sources, no matter what is said about them. I know from personal experience what people say is not always the truth! :)

Think about it, people have said terrible things about just about everyone!

People do claim that but I think when your dead that’s it and there’s no one that can communicate with them.
You know, I believe the same way, that when you’re dead, you’re dead. (In fact the Bible says that.)
So it should make you wonder, “what is going on?”

Like with…
Lincoln's ghost - Wikipedia ? (Read the part about Winston Churchill, & Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands… and others.)

Did you know Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes’ author, was a staunch spiritualist? Why? (That pursuit cost him close friends.)

There’s a million other incidents.

There are simply too many incidents, involving too many people, to claim they’re all delusional. Or just making it up.

They are being misled, though.

Would you be open to discussing what is going on? What is the source of these encounters?

Because I would classify these events as miracles, though probably not from the source you’re expecting me to claim.

I don’t think many people have talked to the dead but they may think they have.

The son of man died 2000 years ago and the physical world was unchanged, which isn’t impressive.

Many pastors and preachers elude to heaven being a new earth. They always do that. Why? Why not come out and say what they think? I think many Christians believe this new earth will come when “Jesus” dies.

I just googled if some preachers teach that Jesus is alive in the flesh on earth right now and google said, while the mainstream Christian belief is that Jesus is alive in spirit after his resurrection, a very small fringe group, often referred to as "the "Jesus is alive in the flesh" movement, does preach that Jesus is physically present on Earth today, walking among people; however, this view is not widely held within Christianity and is considered by most theologians to be outside the bounds of orthodox Christian doctrine.

Hmm. I never knew. Cool, I’m glad they’re out there spreading this message. I can’t find any more information about it so if anybody out there can find something please share here.

I think the source of these encounters is mental illness.

Yes, I agree. (I edited my post; I removed “mistaken.”)

(I apologize for being so late to respond.)

What’s behind such encounters? Did you read the link to Wikipedia i posted about Lincoln’s Ghost? You made no comment on Churchill’s or any other person’s experience. They were not mistaken about the encounters!

Do you think it’s possible that there might be entities impostering / pretending to be these dead people?

That’s the view i have. The purpose is to mislead and deceive. Read Revelation 12:9.

No… no way.

We’re talking people like Winston Churchill, and others who were known as sane and deep thinkers, including author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

So, attributing such events to “mental illness” doesn’t fit. There’s something going on.
And basically ignoring it, just helps to give the advantage to these entities to easily continue perpetrating this deception of impostering the dead.
It’s what these deceiving spirits want …. To promote any type of thinking — even in secular fields, like non-empirical science with its inferred conclusions— that discredits what the Bible really teaches.

Have a good day.

All you need is love.
I think the source of these encounters is mental illness.

Since you seem to believe that the source of paranormal encounters with spirits is mental illness, I'm going to ask you if you have ever tried to verify that your unique beliefs about how the world was created in 1979 and that your death will reset the world back to 1979 are true and not just in your head.

Have you ever been evaulated by professional psychologists and/or therapists to be absolutely certain that you are not mentally ill? Have you undergone a psychiatric evaluation or a cranial CT scan to verify that there is nothing neurologically wrong with your brain? I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that you haven't done any of this to find out if there is something wrong with your mind. I can imagine what a therapist or psychologist might say if you told them about your beliefs. I don't think it would be in your favor. So perhaps you shouldn't say that the source of other people's encounters with spirits is because of mental illness before knowing all the facts of their encounter. I find that offensive considering my history with this kind of phenomena.
