Do Extreme Interventions for Trans Youths Save Lives?

Ok. How would you summarise the evidence that puberty blockers aren't effective?
Based on the articles I've linked to, the summary is that either:

- no statistical improvement in mental health was measured

or

- the studies that claimed to see improvements in mental health are now being called into question because they were poorly designed studies.

== This is just my summary!

And to be clear: The claim under scrutiny is that these hormones improve mental health. No one saying they don't block puberty.

Call it what the profession calls it -- gender dysphoria.
I wish it was that cut and dried. But we hear that some transgender people do not report any dysphoria, and a couple of years back, WHO changed its mind and now calls it: gender incongruence.

I had a quick look at that blog post and the study and to be fair that does look iffy. I had a look at the EPATH website and they definitely support the use of puberty blockers (though they do say that every case is should be looked at on its own merits).

I'll have a poke about the other studies when I get time.
