Do Mohammed and the Pope provide moral guidance on sex?

Regarding sex with prepubescent children, Abu-Ala’ Maududi states:
"Therefore, making mention of the waiting-period for girls who have not yet menstruated, clearly proves that it is not only permissible to give away the girl at this age but it is permissible for the husband to consummate marriage with her. Now, obviously no Muslim has the right to forbid a thing which the Qur’an has held as permissible." (Maududi, volume 5, p. 620, note 13, emphasis added)

It is clear: Muslim men can engage in sex with prepubescent children!
Muhammad, Aisha, Islam, and Child Brides

Response: There's the statement. Where's the proof? The fact that you have none proves to the contrary.

5. Slave—girls are sexual property for their male owners.
The Quran in Sura 4:24 says:
And forbidden to you are wedded wives of other people except those who have fallen in your hands [as prisoners of war] . . . (Maududi, vol. 1, p. 319).

Response: Amazing how the words in black completely differ and are not synonymous of the words in red. Thus demonstrating that the words in black are not the meaning of the words in red, and the verse does not mean what you claim. Thanks.

seriously muslims, Why you sitting with people when you know very well their intentions?

Linking the catholic prists to Muhammed saw is not a clear sign to you muslims?

If you keep sitting with them in this topic then you are one of them as mentioned in the Quran.

Please do not sit.

Response: The qur'an states nothing like that. But it does state to spread the message of islam. And if sitting with one with bad intent helps spread the message, then Allah(swt) would only be grateful.

I am glad to see that you acknowledge that your position from Islam isn't based on facts, and that your view is a little affected by your exposure to Christianity.

but don't you think it is unfair to judge an entire religion based on the media, and the actions of some of it's adherents.

Quite possibly it is unfair to judge the entire religion based on what exposure I have had )of its adherent's actions) via the media.

Does the religion (Islam) condemn gays to death out of hand? A yes or no answer please. If so, then I feel justified in judging the entire religion based on that single fact. If the religion does not, but its adherents continue to condemn me and mine to death simply because of our relationships with other adult humans, then I won't judge the religion but instead will reserve that judgment for the adherents of that religion, who are the embodiment of that religion.

My answer is No.

Could you at least care to add "some" to the term adherents.

Not all Muslims believe that.

Does anyone else wonder what on earth is going on here, and what the impact is of looking to religious leaders like Mohammed and the Pope for moral guidance on the subject of sex?
Well, if I ever decide to have sex with children I will consider reading their august opinions.

Like many of you, I recently learned through RF debates that the prophet Mohammed consummated his marriage to his child bride Aisha, by the time she was only 9-years-old.

And if you’ve been watching the news, you’ll know that the Pope himself was/is involved in covering-up the child sex abuse done by his priests.
I would not compare these two things.
btw: Mohammad was not a pedophile
