Do You Believe in Free Will?

The present was already set in stone before you were born. How can you set the future in stone when everything you think, feel, and choose in the present has already been set in stone by previous events? Free will implies that we could do something other than what is set in stone, it is the opposite of fate.
Neither the future nor the past exist but in the "now".

Yes? No? Why or why not?

My inclination is to think that our choices are not entirely free. That is, we have a choice of A, B, and C in a given situation. Using reason, we can choose one course of action while rejecting the other two.

That is, I can choose one career path over another. etc

Thoughts?

since i BELIEVE in nothing, my will is hampered by nothing. so if free will exists, guess i gots me tons of the stuff huh?

To me, fre will has nothing to do with the flexibility of the future or not. The future could be 100% set in stone, and we can still have free will. The point is not if it is set in stone or not, the point is "who" sets it in stone. If our actions set our own future in stone, then we have free will.

What is free will then? And why is it named as such, if it is in fact not free at all (and I propose that therefore it can't truly be a will)?

nope. a statement of what i think. hell it isn't even a statement of what i think muchless believe. it's a guess as i said.

since i BELIEVE in nothing, my will is hampered by nothing.

You did not say that the quoted section was a guess. You said:

You guessed that "you gots you tons of the stuff", not that "you BELIEVE in nothing, so your will is hampered by nothing".
