I don't know any dairy people that mistreat their animals. (and I know quite a few dairy folks)
Here in New England anyway we take great pride in our local dairy farms and milk distributes. None of the local brands use milk from cows treated with hormones for example.

I've seen no scientifically reputable evidence that milk is a health concern if used in moderation... like anything else in the diet.
As for lactose tolerance... I have inherited the European mutation from my immigrant ancestors, I digest it quite easily.

The bottom line was, just try staying away from dairy for a month and see how you feel. I can get behind that.

I didn't feel any different. There was a while where my only dairy came from the odd pieces of cheese.

The kid's video is dumb. The "doctor's" video is dumb, and it has SOME good information, but it's all the stuff that isn't about milk. Just because you're a doctor doesn't mean you're a good scientist. The whole "some people are lactose intolerant" thing is just throwing in useless information. Yes, most of the world is lactose intolerant. Most of the world is also Asian. Most Asians are lactose intolerant. So what? What does that have to do with the rest of us that aren't? Yes, some people are allergic/intolerant to peanuts, too. What does that have to do with those of us that aren't?

YES, too much of a good thing is a bad thing. That's the point, really, of the doctor's video. Fine. We all already knew that. Everything in moderation. Why is this news?

The thing that really set off my BS detector, though, was the insistence on a government conspiracy. The dairy industry is really greedy, and they know the stuff will kill you, so they have to pay the government (and have been doing so for HOW LONG?) to tell you it's good for you?

I don't care what other information is in it. If there's a government conspiracy, useless information meant to scare people, and exaggeration of facts in a video or presentation like this, then the rest of it can't have any merit.

I very rarely drink milk. I don't really like it. I only drink it if I'm eating cookies or for some odd reason pizza.

I love diary products too much to give them up. I love a cold glass of milk once in awhile, or just having milk with my cereal. Cheese is one of my favorite snacks is cheese (too bad it's loaded with fat :( ). And I eat a cup of yogurt with my breakfast almost every day.

Can't forget about the ice cream. That's my weakness and cheese. I don't like dairy much but I can but you put ice cream in front of me and I eat it like I haven't ate in year.

I try not to think about ice cream. I stare at the Ben and Jerry's section everytime I'm in the frozen foods isle at any grocery store, dreaming about indulging in this yummy delight. The thing that keeps me from realizing this dream is the price, and reminding myself that I am trying to loose weight, not pile it on. But occasionally when they are on sell a fro'yo is very satisfying.

I love Ben and Jerry's! I wish they weren't so pricey. I'm not over weight but my metabolism isn't like it used to be. I used to be able to eat and eat and eat without having to worry but now if I do it I can weight like crazy. I'm too poor to go and buy new clothes.

I do not consume dairy. The first person who decided to drink cow nipple juice must have been crazy, but somehow it caught on.

As for it being unhealthy, apparently everything's unhealthy. Every day I hear about some other food that causes cancer or some other problem. Let's just face it and assume we'll eventually get cancer.

I've already had cancer and I don't swear off dairy... But Almond milk is healthier and tastes better to me than cows milk. Splitting my total dairy intake with almond milk makes sense as too much of a good thing...

Granted Im not sure that statement works with scotch... And if someone is going to drink scotch and complain about dairy... hmmm...

Hee hee. But Almond milk is really many times better in terms of taste and just the semantics of having milk around. (It lasts longer, tastes better etc)

Yes. I admit it. I drink huge quantities of milk. (Raw milk when I can get it.)

I also like frozen Twinkies and untoasted Strawberry Poptarts.

(Good thing I have a high metabolism and no sugar intolerances)
