Divinely inspired? EVERYTHING in the bible was MADE UP by men thousands of years ago. There is no evidence of ANY supernatural beings/forces actually existing. At some point in the future people will view God and Jesus as people view Zeus and Odin today, and shake their heads in wonderment that anyone could actually believe in such obviously fabricated fairy tales.

Hmm... I guess the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus just doesn't exist anymore. Who knew?

The core teachings of Christianity are psychologically damaging. I know people in RL who suffer or have suffered needless guilt and self-loathing because they were taught that the invisible sky daddy hated them for one reason or another. I know people in RL who alienated and turned their own children against them because they eagerly chose their invisible sky daddy over loving their own children. Spreading Christianity in my opinion is like spreading a disease. We don't need it.

What evidence? You have a STORY about someone coming back to life. You have NO evidence that this story actually happened. If you believe that religious claims/stories should be taken as true without requiring evidence to support them then you must be a follower of many religions besides just Christianity. How do you juggle having so many different beliefs at the same time?

Hmm... so we just totally throw out all of the eye witness accounts of the resurrected Christ and ignore the fact that his body was absent from the tomb - and that there are no remains today to be found at all.

And we ignore the fact that surely the High Priest and the Romans would have paraded His body around Jerusalem to prove He was still dead.

Okay...

I cringe and grit my teeth with disgust that God would do this to people I know that aren't bad people. Their crime is they don't believe in God or accept the wrong Gods and don't accept Jesus.
So, you don't find the teaching that people will be tossed about in flames while their agonizing flesh is devoured by worms, wailing and gnashing their teeth for eternity, to be disgusting?

What is their crime for receiving such an eternity of torture? Well, not believing in this God that hides himself and refuses to say a word, not accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior. (Excuse me while I vomit!)

We have a book that divides people and contradicts itself that Christians can't agree on it's interpretation, and that is what we have to save souls from this eternity of torture. I see people on the road to Hell every day and what do I have as a life-preserver to try and save some of these drowning people, but a book full of contradictions and easily verifiable falsehoods. I HAVE NOTHING TO OFFER THESE PEOPLE!

God won't speak up. He's watching people die and go to Hell daily and could save the souls of so many atheists by simply speaking up, and he refuses. And he will have people tortured forever and ever and ever for not believing in him. You don't find that unjust and thoroughly repulsive?? *Barf!*
When looking at the Bible through the eyes of Judaism hell is a bit different.
Daniel 12:2 proclaims "And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt."

Still waiting for your evidence. Seems all you have is unsupported claims/stories.

You throw out the word fact so arbitrarily.

Hmm... so we just totally throw out all of the eye witness accounts of

UFO's
Bigfoot
Fairies
The Lochness Monster
Ghosts
Leprechauns

Do you really except all the things I listed above as actually existing? I mean, there are eye witnesses and evidence for all of them, so you must.

Kind of hard to find the remains of a fictional character, don't you think?

You just keep telling yourself that.

By the way, what year is it? Oh yeah, that's right it is 2017 AD - Christ's death, that is. But you are right, surely such a person we tell time by never really existed...

We aren't talking about Mickey Mouse here, dude. 2 billion people believe in the resurrection of Christ based on the evidence provided. I can only hope that one day you will believe it, too.

At one point, EVERYONE believed the earth was flat, guess what? They were wrong.

Secondly, you have yet to provide any evidence for your resurrection fable. I'm still waiting.

That is what has been drilled into me and what I just cannot shake because it is so intelligently worded.

Have you studied our Lady of Fatima? She made those children suffer so much to atone for sin and said it was sin that was responsible for communism in Russia and World War 2...then she showed them the vision of Hell and had them do penance and suffer for sinners...I could never get that out of my head. I wish I could. I'd have a lot more peace.

Guess it's wise to not obsess about Dogmas that are bad for the mental and emotional health. Sorry!

Why would it bother you? Temporal suffering is not evil. Temporal suffering can be offered up to God so that He can use it for good.

The idea of the hell vision, and sin causing communism and war, and suffering to atone for sin drives me nuts

I do offer up my suffering when it arises, but this belief that I can save souls and atone for sin with my suffering is unhealthy and leads to madness and masochistic behaviour...sorry Lady of Fatima , but your vision of hell and call for penance is bad for my mental and emotional health

No, it doesn't really bother me. It didn't bother me that Sauron wanted to kill everyone and take over middle earth with his army of orcs either.

At least the latter book(s) was entertaining.
