Yeah, that's right, some people do. I generally i.e. basically never do.

Nope. But my wife does.
Only tomatoes, really, but still. That counts, right?
Salt can be good on cantelope.
I'm hard pressed to think of a more revolting thing to do with either.I grew up in the south, and summer was synonymous with salted watermelon. It's actually quite good.
Yeah, I am getting buried under the crop of tomatoes coming in, fresh off the vine, and they are fantastic on their own. Unlike store bought tomatoes, off the vine tomatoes actually have a wonderful flavor.I've coincidentally had two tomato sandwiches since I posted and I didn't even think to salt either time.
I think it's safe to say that you fruit-salters are weirdos.
I've never actually tried salt on watermelon and applies, but I can see where I might like the taste since I like it on cantelope. Typically, though, I wouldn't salt my fruit. Here! Here!....on that watermelon and apples!
It wouldn't even occur to me to put salt on a piece of fruit. I don't consider tomatoes to be fruits and put a dash of sea salt on them with pepper on toast. Yum. Aside from that, I don't really use a lot of salt. It spoils the flavor of things.
