I put hot chili powder/pepper on mango.
When I was a kid (but not anymore) I would put salt on apples.
I put black pepper on tomato.
If I use sa,t, I like RED or PINK or salt from dead seas.
I put salt on corn but that is not fruit so I don't know why I just said that.
Salt is bad for me. But I like it.
I will vote yes.

It wouldn't even occur to me to put salt on a piece of fruit. I don't consider tomatoes to be fruits and put a dash of sea salt on them with pepper on toast. Yum. Aside from that, I don't really use a lot of salt. It spoils the flavor of things.

I only use salt and pepper in cooking. I never use it at table.

( I Have thought of an exception ... that is with soft boiled eggs... where I touch the tip of the spoon in a little salt.)

It never occurred to me to put salt on fruit. I don't usually like sweet/salty combo stuff.

I suppose I might salt a tomato if Im making a tomato sandwich. However, that would also include black pepper and mayo along with lettuce. Im more likely to just pepper a tomato.

I tend to try to not add salt to food unless it is specified for a recipe.

But I do put a little salt, pepper and mayonnaise on tomatoes when I make a sandwich (makes me want one).

Salt is good on watermelon and apple slices. My family ate them that way when I was a kid. It's very rare that I put salt on anything nowadays, though.

At the risk of ruffling some feathers, I have to say that salting fruit sounds kind of disgusting. Even if Americans didn't have far too much sodium in their diet.

I've coincidentally had two tomato sandwiches since I posted and I didn't even think to salt either time.

I think it's safe to say that you fruit-salters are weirdos.

Yeah, I am getting buried under the crop of tomatoes coming in, fresh off the vine, and they are fantastic on their own. Unlike store bought tomatoes, off the vine tomatoes actually have a wonderful flavor.

Here! Here!....on that watermelon and apples!
I've never actually tried salt on watermelon and applies, but I can see where I might like the taste since I like it on cantelope. Typically, though, I wouldn't salt my fruit.

Same here, though I have family that swear by the joys of watermelon with salt. I don't enjoy it, myself.
