Nope.

You can discuss capitalism 'till your heart's content in the Libertarian, Liberal, and Conservative political areas. All three rely heavily on it to differing degrees; just pick the political philosophy that fits you best and have at it.
Sure, sure, those areas are fine places to discuss capitalism.
But the first 2 include many socialists, so by your reasoning,
should their forum not exist?
I don't know if a capitalist DIR would have much traffic, but
is there any good reason to oppose it?

Despite that shortcoming, the <Yes> votes are winning overwhelmingly.
(Who cares what the socialists have to say about it anyway....well, it
is great fun to watch'm rail against the possibility of a competing forum.)

Railing? I haven't seen anyone railing yet. Maybe you can point it out to me. I see people rightly declaring the thing as ridiculous, I see people making fun of the idea but I don't see any railing.

I've listed my reason to oppose it. Whether or not you can find one is completely up to you.

You listed perceived differences, but those don't rise to the level of justifying the
denial of a capitalist DIR. Would it cause any harm? Or would it be underused?

You listed differences which you perceive, but those don't rise to the level of justifying
the prohibition of a capitalist DIR. Would it cause any harm? Or would it be underused?

Rev, you're free to support it if you wish.

Ain't it obvious?
It would be for people who favor capitalism, rather than those who oppose.

Which type of capitalisms? The thing you guys do not get is that their is not just one socio-economic theory that engages capitalism but many. So whether you guys like it or not people who would be in between pro-capitalism and pro-socialism should be able to post.

The thing you guys don't get is that capitalists could discuss that issue in their forum.
Hmmm....it seems to threaten you. Why is that?

I already stated why I oppose it.
You simply disagree with me.

And that's fine.

I think it's just going to be another headache for you guys. Let's say the Randroids "take ownership" of the subforum and a person who believes in the mixed economy or other sorts of capitalism besides laisse-faire capitalism decide that they can post there too and both sides start reporting each other for violating their subforum.

You know what I mean?

Just like there is a DIR for Socialists, Liberals, heck even Feminists, a DIR for Capitalists makes sense. You hate Capitalism? Fine. No one's forcing you to check out the DIR. Will the creation of Capitalism DIR, cause you any harm?
Live and let live.

Guess, Anti Capitalists hate all opposition.

So who isn't going to be able to post there? People who believe in a mixed economy?

It doesn't threaten me at all, I told them to change it to Objectivist only and I would vote yes.
Instead of trying to prevent a capitalist DIR, why not start a thread for your objectivist DIR?
(Objectivism & capitalism aren't the same thing, btw.)
