How many more votes will this need?

I don't really know, and I am not involved in the decision (at least so far), but let me tell you: if you want to make your case, it will help to actually allow people to vote against it... having two "yes" choices is fun and all, and the cause is worthy, but it really hurts the chances of the poll being taken seriously.

May I suggest that you could create a Site Feedback thread to talk about this idea? It may be that it will be created outright, or a new poll with a "No" option may be needed, or some third option might manifest itself.

Capitalist DIR got 23 Yes votes.
I would also suggest to create a thread in Site Feedback requesting for LGBT DIR. Thats what I did for Capitalist DIR and it worked for me.

I'll do that.

Can you please vote for it? I voted for yours, after all!

Well, it doesn't have to be a DIR. Just a subforum. I made this thread because I thought of it while posting in the Capitalist DIR poll thread.

See, that's all I'm suggesting is a discussion nor debate subforum. Although I'd lean toward discussion as most of the debates fit into politics or general more easily than discussion. I don't think it's necessary but if desired that's what I'd prefer. A DIR seems unneeded hence my opposition since that's the title of the thread.

Well, I can't edit my OP now.

Staff, replace "DIR" with "subforum" in the title, please.

If you oppose it, just don't post there. I don't oppose the Capitalist DIR existing. I'm just not going to post there. We do need a place to post transgender/transsexual topics, though, either way.

I figure if we can have a sexuality area we can have a gender indentity/transgender/transexual area as well.

I agree, even if it was a GSM area, that'd be fine. I still have some concerns about isolation/ghettoization of the topics, but nothing compels anyone to post there instead of in a broader forum so it's all good.

We have the Rainbow Room but that's private and not very active. There is also really nowhere for transgender/transsexual topics to go and that leaves me feeling very left out and confused as to where to put those topics and so they end up all over the place. So a general subforum for LGBT topics seems like the best fix for this.

What say you?

whats that gender symbol represent? Bisexual? or..

It means "gender-neutral".

Physically, I am male and look male. Socially I also go by male pronouns. However, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally I don't really feel male or female. I'm also gender-neutral in that I personally don't feel like I can really fit into stereotypically male gender roles.
