I believe the human form was generally predetermined by an intelligence -but also that some design features are a result of adaptation/the interrelationship between body and environment.

When we think of an intelligent designer, we may tend to imagine a designer at a "drawing board" finalizing a design, and then making one or more models of the same design -but incorporating adaptation into a design would be far more intelligent.

Why do you believe this? Is there any evidence of this?
The human body can be well accounted for by simple Natural Selection. Why inject a magician into it?

Isn't sitting on that fence kinda hard on your butt?

designed ?

well, perhaps if you consider that mathematics of reality pre-existed everything, and that evolution is just another manifestation of God's hand, you might say that

I certainly don't buy the argument that because our bodies are " not better designed " that we are not the product of some divine hand

That's myopic at best, and poor logic to boot

Might as well say " God doesn't exist " because children get cancer

Hello everybody .

I am in discuss with some members , they deny that their body is desinged , and all species,plants...are designed.
maybe to skip the question "who designed us,and all this life?"

I do believe that it's fact to me and to many people,it's maybe sounds crazy to deny this clear fact, which we are see it and living in it,through it !

Please vote,then explain your opinion
thanks in advance :)
No it was not designed. Natural processes (evolution coupled with the laws of biology, chemistry and physics) interacted with matter over billion of years to create many many structures and forms of matter-energy over the eons. One of which is my body.

This is the dominant belief in Hinduism, Buddhism as well as in science (and probably Chinese philosophy and religions as well).

If it was designed, it was an awful design.

Well, might as well toss some other reasons on the pile, Tom

" My hair doesn't brush itself "
" My lawn doesn't cut itself "
" I have to work a job "
" I stub my toes "
" I have to excrete bodily waste daily through hole/s in my skin "

Therefore non-existent God is a bad designer because life is unfair for XYZ reasons

Ooops

Can't blame bad design on a non-existent God

I do believe in God. Just not the character described in old books written by primitive people.
I see science as the true study of God. Religion is generally the product of primitive minds trying to acquire certainty in an uncertain existence.

Yeah, but you see, religion comes from the blend of astrolatry and astrology { mainly }, and both of those come out of the pure mathematical astronomy practiced in Sumeria thousands of years ago by the ruling priest-kings

Back when science and math formed the very foundations of life in the Fertile crescent

Modern Abrahamic religions pale by comparison, imo

Their entire basis are the mes of En-lil

Really Tom ?

Would you like to start a thread to debate me on the history of mathematics in the Fertile Crescent ?

It happens to be my forte, especially mathematical astronomy dating back 6,000 years

If there is anybody kidding himself, it would be the person who lacks the education necessary to have an educated opinion on the topic

I am not asking about designer, or way of you think that you designed.

When you look to mirror, do you believe that your are designed or your body random.

What you see ?
Sigh....
Design and randomness are not antonyms. The body has structure and form and function, but that is because natural processes inherently possess structure and form and patterns. The mechanism of evolution channels the patterns of nature (evidenced in the laws of biology, chemistry and physics) into forms that have functional efficacy for continuing their existence.

In Hindu theology, properties of nature has three inherent categories.
Satva:- The inherent tendency of order and structure in natural phenomena (modern example, the laws of science).
Rajas:- The inherent energy and tendency towards change and transformation in natural phenomena. (energy science, chemical processes, biological evolution)
Tamas:- The inherent tendency towards dissolution, chaos and equilibrium in nature (entropy, randomness).

All phenomena in nature (including our bodies) arise, sustain themselves and dissolve through the interplay of these there inherent tendencies that all elements of natural world possess. Science of course tells us precisely the detailed laws and modes of interaction based on carefully collected evidence, but the basic structure is this.

To design is to invent and object, to draw pictures and do equations and so on to produce a design for something.

To create is to actually make it.

Everything is God though, so it's all ultimately metaphorical.
But it's seems that your body is designed to live and eat , and walk ,speak ,....etc

Body is designed by God then created by God.

I see no harm or insult to call God is Designer and Creator of everything.

Probably. But it's not like that creation was some point in time. Creation is now. Everything's God, all forms are the personality of God.
Where is the problem on this? :
God design His creation (life, animals ,humans ...), then He created it.

It's like design car, then made it.
That's probably logical and make sense.
