If life is symmetric, there won't be one until I'm dead, as I was born immediately after WWII ended. One can take this with a pinch of salt of course.

I'm halfway through the biography of Oppenheimer on which the current film is based. It has reminded me of the cold war, during which a nuclear WW3 was a permanent background anxiety. I am curious about the thought process. A part of my brain tried to argue that a world war may be a major catalyst for change, but it seems like this may lead to more totalitarianism in the world during the aftermath.
I just don't think I could ever feel good about supporting something leading to so much tragedy as a world war anyway.
