Because they are celebrating pagan customs and rituals even if they've linked their christ in with them. I don't believe morphology means a thing cease to exist.
So they are celebrating things even if they know nothing about them?

One wonders if your god is as big a prude as you make him out to be.

Why not, lots of Christians claim that atheists can't celebrate Christmas because they're inherently celebrating Christianity at the same time. o_O
I am not one to take the belief that every single claim made by someone is true or accurate.

For example, merely because a few members want us to believe that the celebration of Christmas equals the celebration of every single thing ever celebrated at that same time of year does not make the claim true.

Is the burning of small candles called votive candles against the rules for a very fine Christian?

intended to be burnt as a votive offering in an act of Christian prayer, especially within the Anglican and Roman Catholic Christian denominations, among others.

We use Santa Claus to conceal our gift giving. I think giving anonymous gifts is very Christian. I don't have any delusion that Christ was born in December, but I don't think it matters much when we celebrate his birth. Christmas is a wonderful opportunity to teach our children about charity.

Helping others is a Christian requirement, but celebrating birthdays is wholly pagan in origin. Jesus said to ignore his birth day, but he told the annointed (only) to memorialize the day of his death. There is nothing good about celebrating a 12 day holiday beginning on December 25th, because that is exactly when the 12 day Saturna begins, a pagan celebration. Pagandom and Christianity were merged to form Christendom, which later became Roman Catholic, a half pagan, half Christian religion of apostates designed to lure pagans to it, by Constantine.

Gosh, perhaps read the Commandment ....

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth:

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:

First clear message, Do not make the Graven Image, or likeness of any thing !

Sorry, you must note the colon at the end of verse 4. That means that the later part, that is verse 5, after the colon, is a straightening up and clarification of verse 4.

a colon :) is a punctuation mark : used chiefly to direct attention to matter (as a list, explanation, quotation, or amplification) that follows.
Colon - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

What these two verses are saying is that you shall not make unto yourself any graven image, or any likeness (of any thing) that (is) in heaven above, or that (is) in the earth beneath, or that (is) in the water under the earth for the purposes of bowing down thyself to them or serving them.

Punctuation in grammar is important.

No most Christians, if any, don't worship nativity scenes and the Crucifix as if it is a god itself. They use them as reminders of God. And there is nothing wrong with that.
According to scripture, using ANYTHING as an aid to worship is idolatry and is a HUGE sin according to God the Almighty.

Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!
Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth

For Christ is born of Mary, and gathered all above,
While mortals sleep, the angels keep their watch of wondering love.
O morning stars together, proclaim the holy birth,
And praises sing to God the King, and peace to men on earth!

How silently, how silently, the wondrous Gift is giv’n;
So God imparts to human hearts the blessings of His Heav’n.
No ear may hear His coming, but in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive Him still, the dear Christ enters in.

I love Charlie Brown.
