Does God forgive soldiers?

There is nothing to forgive because it isn't murder, it is self defence in most cases. However if a soldier kills on his own out of hate, when it wasn't his job then that needs forgiveness.

What if its a soldier's job is to kill many many babies, and the donkeys too? If I go to war with South Carolina right now, i would be allowed to kill all whom would thus be a threat to me, since i decided to also occupy S. C. and now that im at war with them I should defend myself. Is abortion self-defence?

Maybe God will forgive the soldiers but will God forgive their commanders, especially that politicans who send others onto war while sitting safely at home?

I believe God will forgive all that ask for forgiveness.

God will forgive repentant sinners. This includes those who may have murdered others in war. However, the Bible is very clear that the bloody wars of men do not have God's backing. A true Christian will not participate in the wars fought by or between nations. Nor can one be a true Christian and do so. (1 John 3:10-12) The children of God and the children of the Devil are evident by this fact: Everyone who does not carry on righteousness does not originate with God, neither does he who does not love his brother. How foolish of Satan not to repent. But perhaps this rule only applies to humans, any sinner can be a repentent one. even the most sadistic and evil ones. will you see some of them in heaven nonbeliever?

Look into your heart. You can tell if it's righteous or not. If it is not derived from selfish motives or out of injustice then it is righteous. If it is for a better future and protects people's freedom of life and or helps others to live peacefully then it is righteous.

I imagine that there was someone on each side of every single conflict who knew in their heart of hearts that they were on the "righteous" sanctioned by god side.

I did answer the question! Example Al Quaida knows they are wrong when they are killing POWs on a camera. Sure there may be some that are so brain washed they don't know what is right anymore but I'm sure for the most part they do know that what they are doing is wrong.

The less humane people are and the more evil they are in their cause in the war the less righteous the war. It's really simple.

Often times people confuse "righteous" and "religious" and intertwine them. In no way is war justified.
