Does organized religion miss the whole point about God?

As a believer in pixies (they bite), I would kindly ask that you refrain from referring to the scribes of other people's religions as 'foolish'. (There is such a thing as tact, even on a debate forum.)

Well, I believe, I must clarify my stance on the words I chose. For one, I apologize if my choice of words may seem inappropriate for labeling the scribes for other religions. however, they are not religions of other people, I have come from a family who lived/lives among two of the worlds religions, I myself has been taught to follow them for many years of my life, and, therefore, having spent the years dealing with their studies and spending the time to read and try to understand it's relevance, it has led to one of many outcomes. my choice of words are not that of a idiotic man trying pass judgment upon them, but rather one who fails in every attempt to understand them by applying even the least of common sense. And, if entries like "stoning one who disobeys his/her parents" / "man sleeping with man," foolish, it would seem, would be a fitting description from my standpoint.
