Does the body starts to fall apart...?

Does the body starts to fall apart once we hit the 30s? At what age do you start to feel old?

I'm in my early 30s but i often feel exhausted. Things that i loved doing like running, cycling, travelling in my mid twenties, i can't do anymore. What are your thoughts?

My dad is 70, and runs about 5-6 miles a day.

I think the older we get, once we fall out of a healthy habit, its harder to start it up again. I also find that the social outlets we have become more sedentary as we get older. As a teen, I loved to physically fight(for sport), and it kept me in great shape. However, as I aged, fewer friends wanted to kick the crap out of each other for fun. Without that outlet, I got more out of shape as time went on.

Childbirth can knock a few things out of line, too.

I'm 76 and don't feel old most of the time in spite of lack of energy etc. Old to me is a moving target - now I think of 90 as old.

But it really depends on health. When chronic illness happens, the feeling of old can be close behind.

Lol! Oh, how that makes me smile in utter amusement!

When I was 16 or 17, I had a friend from school named Laura who lived in my neighborhood. I used to go to her house and we would wrestle in the front yard. It was really fun. I'm sure her husband would be opposed if we tried that today.

If you're ever in the area, stop by and we can beat each other up! My husband won't mind an innocent fight.

When I was younger, my favorite friend to beat on was 6'2. I was(and still am) 5'2. I got pretty strong from fighting someone so much bigger than me on a daily basis. We didn't go easy, either... I busted his nose. He busted my finger. All in the name of friendship, though.

Ladies and Gentlemen, on one side of the ring, we have @JustGeorge weighing in 250 pounds and on the other side we have @mangalavara, weighing in 105 pounds. That's right. This is gonna be a helluva fight. And this is for the world heavyweight championship.

Lol! Hopefully, I will never forget.

As someone who is only four inches taller than you, I'd probably leave with lots of red marks, a couple of bruises, and a Band-Aid, all on my face. :p

Good times!

Well we all vary, but I was probably the fittest in my early thirties, as to stamina and endurance, and it hardly dipped much until my early forties. I was mountaineering and long-distance cycling quite capably even in my mid-forties. My early life as to cycling a lot perhaps set me up for such, given that I wasn't into any other forms of exercise really, and never did any training - and perhaps why my rock-climbing ability never took off so as to achieve what many see as normal now.

Stay as active as you can for as long as you can, is my advice. But do it gently.

At 60 I generally feel less tired than I often did when I was in my 40s - I had more work and family pressures back then, and stress takes it's toll. That said, I'm very slow these days. Can still run, but I get overtaken by pedestrians.

I know what you're talking about. Even though I'm a Millenial (born between 1981-96) i'm often being overtaken by Generation Z pedestrians (who are born between 1997-2012). The current gen needs to slow down and let the senior and elderly citizens pass first. ;)

Get yourself checked. I started getting old in my 70s. Yeah, there is degeneration of body even earlier than 30, but it is not perceptible for a long time.
Though I wish to, but I am not living a healthy life.

That is OK, but JustGeorge is a boxer and Mangalavara is a wrestler! What kind of game will they play? Perhaps arm wrestling?

I'm 61 and just done one of the toughest half marathons in the country. But even staying fit, there has to be a gradual decline. My times have crept up over the years.
I have a friend who has just given up kick boxing. She's 72. Looks about 50 tops.

Im 51, in the last 3 years i feel like I'm falling apart. It stems from a minor stomach op that went wrong, followed by a second op to put things right(ish).

Before that walking 10 or 20 miles was a doddle, cycling 100 miles several days per week. After, I'm struggling to complete my morning yoga session.

Evolution generally keeps you healthy long enough to procreate. After that, you are own your own.
IOW, once you have kids, evolution has no more need for you.

My body started feeling the pain of arthritis in my late 40s, so if one takes care of oneself, I imagine the typical person without other health issues can likely make it well into their 50s without feeling like their body is starting to "fall apart."

As far as feeling old, that's a state of mind. My body is 55 years old, and while pain is ever present, I don't "feel old."
