Does the moon hold magical power?

In a lot of Left Hand Path writings, the moon is seen as having some sort of spiritual significance. Many resources state that Satanic rituals are most effective when done during a full moon.

What do you think about this? Do you believe that the moon holds spiritual power?

I think that the moon holds spiritual power due to its size and movement. Just like it generates gravity, I believe that it generates or attracts some sort of Occult power. It's rotation and alignment with the Earth and Sun likely affects the spiritual landscape of the Earth.

I think large objects on Earth, such as mountains, large alone standing trees, etc. can cause Occult phenomenon to occur.

Well... It does influence our tides.. I call that pretty spiritual (although some would say it's simply scientific).

Well, it's analogous to its spiritual affect on the Earth. But, the moon may also spiritual affects us indirectly via the tide.

The moon has Power, many RHP Paths use him. The full moon is a guide for them
They fear the Darkness and use the power of the moon to turn away from their fears
For me as setian the moonless darkness has more power. the moon irritades with his light the view into the Darkness and the beauty within. I do not fear the Darkness I Embrace my fears laying in the dark. And this has much more power than the light of moon.

All natural things radiate a unique energy, including the moon and the various minerals it is made up of. It doesn't have any divine power in itself. Perhaps its effects on the magnetic field also somehow influence the way energy moves, thus having an effect on our rituals and workings.

The moon is a rock in the sky that reflects the light of the Sun :)

Well, it's a very large, almost perfectly shaped rock. And it reflects a very large amount of light. Things that big would likely have an affect on spiritual happening.

It does for me, but in a more philosophical sense. It represents so many things, including:

Balance, because it has achieved a relatively steady orbit while being constantly influenced by the Earth and Sun.

Perseverance, because it was not destroyed by constant bombardment of cosmic matter.

Guardianship, because it provides a "night-light" for all living creatures on Earth.

Initiation (or Promotion), because mankind's visit to the moon represents a bold refusal of the status quo.

I'd say it is not only significant, but essential spiritually, in the sense that our lives, spirits could not exist without it.

Many scientists (including atheists) have remarked on how the universe so lends itself to our understanding. One reason being that the moon perfectly masks the disc of the sun during an eclipse.

This is not just an impressive visual effect, it reveals the suns corona, the gasses and chemical/ sub atomic reactions taking place in our star, and hence gives us the insight we have today, on the composition of the entire visible universe.

coincidence? perhaps but I wouldn't bet on it!

I think most "coincidences" said to exist in our universe (the Earth's perfect positioning in relation to the Sun, Jupiter's gravitational pull protecting us from asteroids, large amounts of water on Earth, and the formation of DNA) are actually not coincidences at all. Life exists on Earth because of thousands of "coincidences".

I agree, that's why we have observed nothing but the 'great silence' from the rest of the galaxy. The more we learn about Earth and science, the more extraordinary we appreciate our planet to be.

I think the universe would probably have to be much much larger to make ET a practical probability.. It's looking more likely that we are alone.

While It's always technically possible that our unique existence is just a result of staggering coincidence, I think there are far less improbable explanations, if we don't artificially limit ourselves to 'chance only' explanations?

I think that pseudo-organisms exist on planets other than earth, I'm referring to very simple structures that carry out some life functions, rather than actual living beings with DNA. I'm not sure about actual complex life.
