Some interesting views. Personally I really struggle to see how a mature spiritual path can involve any form of discrimination based on race, gender or sexual orientation. Discrimination and bigotry are among the more unpleasant aspects of human nature, so condoning or encouraging such attitudes seems very strange to me.

I think that Jesus treated everyone equally, He just tried to steer them into better directions if they were in sin. But, He loved everyone, treated everyone with intrinsic value and equity. But, the followers of Christianity...that's another story. Many don't treat people equally, and unfortunately, the religion gets blamed for their shortcomings. :/

Unfortunately however with the evolution of sexual politics some people of faith do treat women as inferior in some cases, with "scriptural backing."

Disciminations made by man. Everyone, yeah... even those without a religion should be able to treat everyone equally. Isnt it? Ok, ok, not the one who is ignoring me on purpose... but there are things in life i cant change i guess.

My religion is my sole connection to God,the almighty one. In case that I am created in the image of God and that image does not allow any discrimination,so the God and I both,decidedly treat everyone the same.

With that, I think it's important to consider the cultural context you and I exist in. We are products of a culture where discrimination is seen as taboo. This was simply not the case in eras past, and continues to not be the case in some cultures today. As part of our rationalizing of our decisions and cultural norms, we then regard our cultural choices to be superior (or "mature" as you put it) compared to those of others. In essence, our aversion to paths that involve discrimination says more about our own cultural biases than anything else.

I suppose that's a long-winded way of saying that I don't find it strange. I find it human and quite normal.

My religion is not discriminatory. The maxims carved on the wall at the sanctuary of Delphi included "Find fault with no-one" and "Live together peacefully". I think this characterises all paganism, where the gods are not seen as wanting to micro-manage human life-styles.

We discriminate all the time Spiney. What you're doing now is a form of discrimination- it is how we get through life. It would be impossible to do so without it. Birds of a feather flock together, that's the saying. It's called choice. We discriminate in law don't we? what is wrong with it? Perhaps you are thinking of a particular form of discrimination.

But with diversity, discrimination comes in, that's why there's diversity in the first place.
