Once you take all of the salty language and innuendo out of it, it is totally innappropriate for a Prosecutor to call for someone getting shot. Too bad this obvious point is getting lost in the mire.

It's not a racist statement its generated to people without flavor.....

It sounds childish and akin to middle-school insults that lack any semblance of articulation beyond ranting.

That said, it would be even worse if it had racial connotations, which wouldn't surprise me since mayonnaise is white. You didn't mean it to be racially insulting toward white people, right?

This was Charlemagne's thing....I said it was meant for deplorable white folks not ALL white folks he originally made the comment towards Taylor Swift's rendition to Earth, wind, and Fire's song which was deplorable to even do a cover on. There is a history of attributing watermelon to black people not mayonnaise if you're too stupid to realize then you're even more dumb than I thought which was a low bar.

Oh, "deplorable white folk." So it does have racial undertones. I wonder how you'd feel if someone used an insult specifically for "deplorable black folk" or "deplorable Arab folk." Would that be acceptable to you?

The regressive left seems to have a habit of burying a lot of good points under heaps of double standards, virtue signaling, and selective outrage.

Don't come at me with the BS....

We hear being callled names everyday without provocation. We get stereotypes on us all day. Social media, everything. This is not me saying this, this is this guy. Black people get insulted on the web every fuc**** dip *****. This isn't me getting upset. Did any of you smart people read this man's tweet? Let me show you:

https://twitter.com/cthagod/status/971025933388996608?lang=en

He already got back lash for the usage of the word by people of all cultures including black folks. I find it ironic when white people (excuse me some) make racist comments or jokes we are told to not be sensitive, oh how the wheels have turned when a simple non-historic word can trigger so many people.

Two wrongs don't make a right, and it doesn't matter if you, a person outside a specific group, feel insulted or not by a racial insult that doesn't even target you. What matters is how the targeted people feel. The same applies to when non-black or non-Arab people insult black or Arab people and justify that by telling either latter group to not be "oversensitive."

It's a good thing he got backlash for his usage of the word. That's what should happen whenever someone expresses racism.

I just said I don't condone it but I'm not going to get lumped in with him simply because I am translating what this guy is saying. Is anyone using their brains? I'm not saying this dude is right.. I listen to his show almost every morning after work so I have better insight than most of you.

I find it ironic many of you are silent to the BS that is attributed to blacks but I mentioned something which has nothing to do with race except the damn word mayonnaise and you flip. This is this man's word. you have a gripe take it up with him.

Just had to check someone on here about black face and the Qur'an @Debater Slayer I didn't see you bumping your gums in that conversation. Oh let me guess selective outrage.

The lady in the picture whose tweet I cannot post talked about CTHG word and said it was wrong.

Nah, because it would seem funny to you and @Revoltingest cause you guys find lame things funny. But watermelons have a racial connotation mayonnaise does not.
Actually if you look at the history of the connection of black people and watermelons it was originally a symbol of self sufficiency because many blacks after slavery took to selling produce therefore it was a positive connection with entrepreneurship and self sufficiency so it was a compliment.

As for your own blatant racism which you do not acknowledge, try taking the 2x4 out of thine own eye before you try to take the splinter out of anothers.

I've criticized racism of different forms in many other threads. I don't need to do it in every single thread to prove I'm not "silent" on the racism that black people face.

As for the subject regarding the Qur'an, "black" is used as a metaphor for grief, regret, etc.--as in, "black" means "darkness" in that context, so it has nothing to do with race. I see no reason to be outraged about a non-racial metaphor, but that's an entirely different subject and one for another thread.

Self-sufficiency?

"But the stereotype that African Americans are excessively fond of watermelon emerged for a specific historical reason and served a specific political purpose. The trope came into full force when slaves won their emancipation during the Civil War. Free black people grew, ate, and sold watermelons, and in doing so made the fruit a symbol of their freedom. Southern whites, threatened by blacks’ newfound freedom, responded by making the fruit a symbol of black people’s perceived uncleanliness, laziness, childishness, and unwanted public presence. This racist trope then exploded in American popular culture, becoming so pervasive that its historical origin became obscure."

Thought ya'll had high IQ's?

learn history please.....

Perhaps your explanation which was similar to mines could have been used in that thread, instead I was harassed. But its a moot point. It is selective outrage on your part. You rarely comment on the moderate things I say but when I make a damn comment you don't like, you comment. It is selective outrage bro. Look, I get it. I'm outspoken. But I'll be damned if you're going to misinterpret this thread. One person asked what the hell was mayonnaise in this context. I explained it.. People ran off with it. Case closed.

The difference between the rhetoric on each side is this: the Assistant District Attorney holds a powerful office. If he can't conduct his business without calling for people to get shot, he has no business holding that office.

I guess I should start responding to every single post I agree with or find moderate and express agreement or else I'm engaging in selective outrage. Not sure how that logic is supposed to work.

If you don't condone the usage of "mayonnaise" as a racial insult, then we don't disagree. I think using it while opposing other racial terms is inconsistent and biased.

You didn't check anything! You made a false accusation!

I pointed out the fact that the Qu'ran says people will change colors, the good guys will become white and the bad guys will become black!

The Qu'ran says that.

Why should the mods jump on some one for quoting a "Scripture", and saying, "that is potentially toxic, disrespectful, or misleading choice of words and imagry" in a "sacred text"?

"Thought you all had high IQ's"

"Learn history please'

Speaking of intelligence and history, i see you insult people a lot and point the finger, while at the same time you defend tyranny, cruelty, torture, antisemitism, and mass-killings.

When the obvious hypocrisy is pointed out, you can't take it, but you sure can dish it out!

How does that make any sense?

@Stanyon Cat got your tongue on that BS..

Speaking of "cat got your tongue".
I prove many of your claims and false-accusations to be falsehoods, and you respond with silence (ignore) rather than just admit you errored in judgement.

I have apologized when I make a mistakes.

I'm not mistaken in knowing you are often uttering falsehoods, insults, hypocrisy, and double-standards, making it very easy to win an argument with you... and you can't handle it....but you sure can dish it out! You can't handle a taste of your own medicine, you are never wrong, and totally oblivious to your double-standards!

I feel for you, I really do, and any insults to your heritage that you have endured. Im sorry you have had to go through that! :(

The closet thing to Jesus Christ imo, that I have met in this city, is my AA sponsor, who is African American.

He is my hero who I look up to.

I have no beef with your heritage. It is double standards that i've got an issue with here!

A derogatory term for some white folk is still one about white folk, ie, it's racist.
By analogy, not all black folk are called moon crickets or porch monkeys, yet
those are still considered racist terms.
There is a history of attributing watermelon to black people not mayonnaise if you're too stupid to realize then you're even more dumb than I thought which was a low bar.
One ought not call another "dumb" when one's objection is based
upon a misreading of another's post. It reflects poorly upon one.

I notice that you manage to post thus in flagrant violation of the rules.
And yet, you continue unabated. Were I to do so, knuckles would bleed.
I really don't know how this place works.
I understand you're unseasoned chicken yourself and I'm sure you like bland music but this is what the man was talking about. Now if you think calling people water, melon is funny I have a bag of jokes about the great many Caucasians who love methamphetamine.
Interesting.....these presumptions based upon race.
What music do I like?
(This should be really easy for the perspicacious poster.)
