When I used to go go mass with my friend I bought this token at the churches gift shop. It was from god:

You think you got stress. Think of what I have to deal with.

Dont know why I remembered that. Dont know how a god can be stressed but I guess I'll roll with it for now.

That's been the history of humanity, at least back as far as we can find. And even within a religion it's been that way at least in the West with Catholic vs Protestant vs Sunni vs Shi'a, for example.

I've lived long enough to see that is gradually fading but not in a straight line.

If a god exists as depicted by religion then it would be within his power to say "stop this bickering over who and what i am, stop this sniping over who i consider most worthy. Sort yourselves out or i send another magic flood or thunderbolts or earthquakes or volcanoes or tsunamis to kill you all like i did before... Any questions take it up with my secretary"
