So what is truth to you?that can be said about anything which is not truth.
we have to accept that fact that yes the universe is billions of years old. Lets look at if from Gods point of view. We are unable to grasp the concept of time as he sees it. A million years to us could be a micro second to God
Why would an omnipotent God want to go to all of this effort? Seems like a pretty lame prank to me, especially when all He can say at the end of it is: "lolololz I tricked you lolz! NOW BURN!"
That`s the usual theistic rebuttal for your argument...yes.
Well if your child questioned you on why you may do something to/for them, it's usually because they want to know?Isaiah 55
8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,"
declares the LORD.
9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Who are we to question this being so high his thoughts are in the heavens?

.....I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use. - Galileo Galilei
We are people who each have the ability to reason. And when you look at the empirical evidence, a literal interpretation of the Abrahamic God makes no sense. The Earth is not 7000 years old, neither is the universe. The world is not flat. It was not magically poofed into existence in seven days. Evolution is a real biological phenomenon. If none of this were the case, then why would God go to all the trouble of fabricating all the evidence for it?
Beat me to it, but I'd like to add my voice to yours....speaking as a theist myself, I must say... that rebuttal is ridiculous.
In any case, you're right the world isn't 7,000 years old, it's 6,013 (almost 6,014) years old.
That's it?Who are we to question this being so high his thoughts are in the heavens?

nope.Knowing how to manipulate the fundamental constituents of the universe to do our bidding is not "wisdom"?
That's it?
I mean really, that's it?
That is all the better you can come up with?
Nothing more than "how dare you question god?"
I dare.
I dare because with all the misinformation being spread by his 'followers' one has to question god.
To bad he has never answered.
ANY deity that is fooled by Pascal's Wager is not a deity worth the effort of fooling.Well, since God has given you free will you have the option of not trusting God. However, every action/choice has a consequence, and the consequence of not believing God's Word is everlasting punishment where the fire is not quenched.
However, if you believe, God will save you from your sins by sacrificing Himself to Himself (I told you He was most high), so you can enjoy eternity praising and worshiping Him for not sending you to Hell.

Because he's just that high?
