The polls just closed here in AZ a few minutes ago, so we should be getting some returns soon. The race between McSally and Sinema for the Senate was pretty tight.

The Florida amendment allowing 1.4 million former felons to vote has just passed. This is the largest single enfranchisement of Americans since women got the right to vote.

Some folks think this might result in Florida going Blue in the next election.

With 50 percent reporting in Colorado, Democrat Jared Polis leads Republican Walker Stapleton 54 percent to 43 percent in the race for governor. Polis the first openly gay man to run for governor anywhere.

On a personal note, a family friend and incumbent Republican Congressman has lost to his Democratic opponent. Mixed feelings on that one.

538 forecast now has the Republicans picking up only one Senate seat down from 3 earlier. And a slightly better although still almost nonexistent odds of a Senate majority.

It would be quite something if it came down to Texas.
