Ever Seriosuly Considered...?

*Paul*

Jesus loves you
Just like a tree planted by the water thou shalt not be moved! Don't just know thine faith or passively accept it, rejoice in it, live it, breathe it and make every day a new day to grow that seed of faith into a sapling and then a tree. The rushing river of religion and gospel shall support you and the sun like a light from god will nourish that faith until the truth you have known your whole life comes to fruition.

Inside you you feel your cup runneth over and the holy ghost power shall guide you. Woooooo! I feel the spirit today. As I sat in my yard this morning basking in the holy light of the lord I felt the spirit infuse me and I didn't walk to church this morning... No I didn't walk.... I ran. I said I RAN, bless us all father. I ran and did not feel tired and I knew the house of the lord is where I wanted to be... No... Where I needed to be. Inside this holy place where I can share gods love with so many people today. Are you ready for church today? Do you feeeeeeeeeel his spirit so rich and so warm with us all today? I'll ask again, are you ready for church today? Lord be praised. Lets pray.

I don't believe in infusion - that is from the catholic dictionary. :D
Seriously though that was inventive, how long did it take you? Gave me a good laugh anyhow.

Nope, never considered it and will never convert from Hinduism. :D Hindus see all faiths as leading to the same Divinity anyway...so no need to convert. :D

I work with an ex Hindu who is now a christian. He says it causes a lot of problems with his family.

I've "converted" multiple times over my life, but I think with the exception of 2 of those times (theist to atheist at 10, atheist to pagan at 12, pagan back to atheist at 19 or 20), those conversions were really just the adoption of better labels for my beliefs, rather than an actual change in beliefs. These days, "religious humanist" and "pagan naturalist" are probably the best terms for me, along with "Unitarian Universalist", of course. I'm an atheist, and an odd one at that, but this wasn't always the case! ;)

And would I convert again? Sure, if I found that the old label didn't fit as well as a new one, or (less likely) if my beliefs shifted significantly enough.

I converted from Christianity to atheism in my 20's, and have become more and more knowledgable about atheism since. One thing that I don't miss is the guilt that is associated with religion, the other is the blind unquestioning faith expected in religon, counter to the scientific method. I have come to believe religion in all of its forms, whether moderate or fundamentalist, is harmful to the individual, and may be harmful to many others, because beliefs are accepted, not thought through. I can only live with the freethought and rationalism of atheism now.

I thought many times about converting to another faith, but since they are all shadows of the truth and not the real truth, what does it matter? So I still go to church every major holiday and special occasions. Just a dramatic play it may be, but the symbols used in the rituals are still powerful representations of the cosmos at work. :D

Converting? When i mean seriously, i mean pondering al the time, convincing yourself to do it, not do it... Ever? I have thought about atheism after meeting some folks here. But i was too attched to Hinduism:D

Thanks in advance:)

actually, yes... several months ago, i kind of hazily began calling myself a Muslim. but i'm not sure i ever converted, in the strict sense.

now, i find myself pulled towards Christianity. and in light of that, the events of the past few months make more sense. so yes, i'm considering converting.
