I absolutely believe that you have every bit as much chance to spend eternity in Valhalla, as I believe that Roli will spend eternity in heaven.

In fact, I have no doubt of it.

Im not actually going to valhalla. In fact, theres a 75% chance ill rot in the ground. 25% i will be burnt and cast out onto the ocean. I suppose theres a 1% chance ill be dug up and harvested for my skin. We have to help the burns victims out where possible

I just thought it was amusing since i have the Valkrye wings on my back (yeh i have an obsession with max payne:eek:).

LOL -

I agree with your breakdown of your possibilities, so I'll rephrase my previous post - Roli has as much chance of getting into heaven as you do of getting into Valhalla. :)

You just don't "get it", do you, Roli.

Father Heathen (and a few others) reject your Bible as being the word of God. They reject the very existence of your God.

Your condemnation of them, and your proseltyizing to them is wasted breath.

Let me put it to you this way - since you don't pray to Odin, you will never make it into Valhalla. Does that thought bother you? No?

I didn't think so.

Why get so uptight VoR, I know those professing Christians really get under your skin ,but lighten up.
I was'nt responding to you and I was'nt proseltyizing, as you claim, ..but then again,, every response from a christian in your books is excessively scrutized for being, if not proseltyizing, than a fundalmentalist, lunitic, idiot and the like.

You couldn't be more wrong, roli. I have a great amount of respect for many (if not most) of the Christians (and other theists) on this board.

The ones that I respect are those that spend their time expressing their care for their fellow man, rather than judging him. I'll leave it to you to figure out if you are one of the former or the latter.

Respect, .....well,I'm quite sure of that, more so when you and your cohorts are stroked in the right direction.
I'm emotionally moved when people follow suit in their band wagon of demeaning, and condescending remarks, as they do here, real close group....!
Personally,I have never inwardly felt or outwardly indcated an uncaring attitude towards people on this forum, however, in the heat of debate, it often comes across that way, but never have I openly or jointly defaced and humiliated in such a collaborated manner, as I find here...birds of feather, ....!!!!!.I guess.

I am extremely resilient in this regarda and my feelings are'nt hurt, yet I find the need to share my perspective that there is just too much bashing, belittling etc ..and by the prominent proponents here in this forum, but, I don't expect my opinion to matter much amongst the tight group as I find here..but there it is!!!

In Jesus' day he was confronted with the elite of his time, well, elite in their own minds, that's for certain,..but anyways, the most religious , critcal thinkers and philosphers accused Jesus of being all of the above and than some, so was he a flop, idiot, condemning, judgmental, lunatic ignorant, ..let's see....! ,but his doctrines, principals and influence, not only offended the world around him, but changed the world as we know it ,forever.
He did this more then any one person ever has or ever will.... a little bias, but, nevertheless, true.

So, if I'm getting this right - in the parable above, the "tight knit group" (which includes me) is basically the Pharises, and you are in the role of Jesus, being persecuted for your unconditional love of your fellow man.

You might want to hone that "unconditional love" a little more, roli. The message is coming out a little bit garbled.

Greetings!

I see no problem whatever here!

Properly viewed, science and religion dovetail very nicely, the more so given that each answers questions mainly in a domain not addressable by the other!

And indeed, both are important for a full and coherent view!:

Science without religion is gross materialism (bigger and better nukes).

Religion without science is superstition and witch-burning.

But together, they can accomplish great things!

Best, :)

If you want view that way ,go for it!

Show me where my unconditional love is in question, as I mentioned before ,i have never belittled, demeaned or made jest of anyone on here, nor have I insulted anyone personally or jointly with any other, but you question" my " uncondional love for fellow man.
I was merely making the point that Jesus was called every name in the book ,accused of this and that, laughed at ,mocked, ridiculed, etc.and yet came out on top as the world history maker of all time ..and over all the scholars of his day.

Their only recourse was to kill him because they could'nt stand to hear the truth that witnessed in their hearts. He babbled like a fool they said, as his words hit their hearts like arrows on their intended targets.
How would the higher thinkers of today, in our secular humanistic and modernistic world treat Jesus, if he were here amongst us today.
Maybe as I see Christians treated in today's society....!!!

I mean Jesus was crucified for his claims and position and he says, "you will be persecuted as well", but take heart, they don't hate you they hate me.
Could it quite possibly be that us, so called, ignorant, deceived delusional Christians have one up on the higher thinkers of today..time will tell.

Where those elite group of higher thinkers empowered amongst their peers in their treatment of Jesus and their self proclaimed wisdom and intellect...for a moment I;m sure...but they were quickly silenced when his few words pierced their hearts and they recognised their ignorance of the truth in which Jesus spoke.

Could his parables actually be the truth today as they were then and could it possibly be that all those who walk in those truths are not as naive, ignorant as some presume.

The problem I find is that people keep trying to disprove one or the other. There is truth to be found in ALL things. If we only look to one source for that truth, we only find partial truth. I would rather find out what the WHOLE puzzle looks like rather than only being able to see part it. Even scientists only see part of the truth in things. They don't have ALL the evidence to prove ALL their scientific theories. Religion does not have ALL the answers to ALL my questions either. But I find that when I look at both sides from a perspective that ALL things, thoughts, and creations are forms of energy, it answers ALL my questions. Try putting this into the equation and you might realize that there really are no "magic" answers. Everything makes perfect sense. There is no "supernatural" world out there. ALL is natural energy in it's many different forms, faces, and guises. But that's just my personal view on the matter.

By the way.... It may seem odd for someone who does not believe in "God", but I do actually consult the Norse god Odin when I use the runes. Even in that old belief there is still truth to be found. Religion and belief does have power because so many people direct their energy and thoughts towards it. There are many gods and many faces and names for them, but ultimately they are all one. They are all different perspectives of the same Universal Energy that is in all things. ALL is ONE. Science and religion are ONE.
