Ex Christians

"Dark"?

Of course it makes sense to you.

What, Jesus doesn't help you sleep at night? You have to drink yourself to sleep?

Yeah dark.
Yes, it makes sense to me.

Sure studying about God and the teachings of Jesus reassure me.I did not say I need to drink to help me sleep because I have problems or anything like that.I meant like when I have a long day and I want to relax.I drink wine sometimes with my meals but I prefer beer.Especially when I B.B.Que.Have you ever heard of a night cap?

Night cap:an alcoholic or hot drink taken at the end of the day or before going to bed.

Yeah dark.

Well, I'm Light, too. Hell, my username translates to "Unconquered Lightbearer".

Yes, it makes sense to me.

Well, it's not like that for all of us. I'm an ex-Christian and it's more complicated than that.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Just making sure you don't have a problem. I drink, too.

I do not have evil ways.

I am not calling you a liar, by no means, but I find that hard to believe. All humans are evil by nature. Our natural inclinations are bad.We say curse words, speak badly about others, kill, steal, join wars, corruption, road rage, fight, sexual immorality etc..

What has led you to assume that we are all evil by nature? Are kids born evil?

To me, evil describes an action and not the nature of a person. Some people do evil things that is unfathomable such as what Ted Bundy did. What you describes sounds more like "I dont like it therefore it is evil."

No person is born evil.

It is this type of teaching that helped me decide the Christian religion was false.

"The Christian religion?"
That doesn't really mean anything, many Christians don't believe that everyone is born 'evil'.:)

There are two types of so called "ex christians." Those that never knew God to begin with and went off into more darkness, and those who had a true relationship with God but chose to turn from the truth.

JUST PLAIN FALSE!

Many of us start to actually study what the Bible says, - and come to the conclusion that no sane, or REAL, God would do those things, or create laws allowing men to do such horrific things.

And then of course there is the idiocy of things like Adam and Chav'vah, a too small Ark, world wide flood, all but 8 people being killed, male control of women, etc.

Everyone is evil. You can be the nicest person in the world and still commit evil.Do not be mislead.

Then they are not true Christians.

Where are you getting that from?

We have had huge discussions on this subject.

People are NOT born evil.

I get a kick out of religious people calling human nature - which evolved as part of our survival instincts - EVIL!

We are only "evil" when we know something should not be done, - and then do it anyway. You know - like the Hebrew murdering children.

Christianity is for those that need milk, not for those that are ready for solid food.
Those that never leave Christianity are like a child who is never weened off of his/her mother's breast.

What makes you qualified to judge a "brother" or sister in christ?

Im not judging.I am only describing what the holy scriptures says.It was stated that not all Christians are born evil.According to the holy scriptures, this is an incorrect assumption. If you read Genesis is clearly states that man disobeyed God and by doing so inherited death by committing sin.Adam and Eve were no longer perfect humans. So, now their offspring are all born sinful. That is why Cain killed Abel.Cain became jealous and full of rage.Since then there has been all kinds of evil committed by mankind.Up until now.

So,as you can see,it is not I who is judging dgirl.I am merely describing what is stated in the holy scriptures. So if one calls themselves a christian, then they will adhere to what is said in God's word.If not, they cannot call themselves a Christian.Jesus came to earth to redeem mankind and erase Adamic sin.If mankind was not born evil then there would be no need for Jesus.

Yep, it's not even stated as such anywhere, just some 'interpretations'. Doesn't even make sense. We have the "propensity" to sin, we have freewill.

I agree, I have argued that here many times.

The Bible actually says we are born into a "condition" brought about by Adam and Chav'vah's sin. It does not say we are born with that sin. The world of CHOICE (good & evil) is that condition.
