Trump has signed several already and is set to sign several more regarding immigration. What is your opinion on executive orders? Thoughts? Ideas?

As for me, I am not a fan of them. They allow the president to make unilateral decisions with circumvents our checks and balances.

If the president signs an order I like, then I'm for it. If he signs one I don't, then I cry foul. Not very useful I know, but its honest. Executive orders can be pretty scary though.

Where are all those on the Right who never wasted a moment to decry Obama's use of executive orders as tyrannical and un-American? They are strangely silent, it would seem.

At work instead of trolling a message board?

Trump is just getting warmed up. What's coming down the pike will make this stuff seem like chicken****.

They've been too fast & furious for me to consider them.
Generally, I'm OK with those which don't usurp legislative or court powers.

But (correct me if I'm wrong), isn't that usually what a president uses them for? To get things done that otherwise he couldn't?

Yes, and that's what worries me.

With the censorship this $#@% just imposed on the EPA, I really have no idea what I'm going to tell my students interested in environmental and conservation issues. There was an E-mail that circulated around our department prior to inauguration about scientists banding together to preserve data in case of this sort of censorship and erasure. The department chair was hoping it was unnecessarily alarmist, and a "just in case" measure. It seems more and more likely this will not be a "just in case" measure.
