Exorcisms

Yes, it's a very powerful defense to just pretend that demons don't exist. That's what I do.

Well, if demons are the only "non-corporeal entities" that can harm us or kill us, then demons must be ideas. I would have said radiation, but that can't really be considered an entity...

An idea cannot be an entity, either, at least not in the non-abstract sense of the word. Metaphorically, an idea can take on a life of its own and cause harm. But in actuality, an idea is an abstract, lifeless concept.

I realize the word "demon" can be used metaphorically and the metaphor exists in the abstract.

I am using the word "demon" to denote a malevolent being capable of causing intentional harm (among other things).

I agree that many cultures and religions have something like demons, and believe that most of these cultures are describing essentially the same thing.

In that case, perhaps we should be on the look out for the chariot which pulls the sun and the grand World Tree...

I didn't realize not putting faith into things which have never been observed (in the scientific sense, not the sight sense) and by nature will never be able to be observed was considered "pretending".

I didn't realize that pretending something doesn't exist that is not quantifiable wouldn't make us better off.

i think we all have control over demons and anyone that gets possesed has probably willingly let the damned thing into themselves. but anyone can cast it out through sheer willpower

Yes and Yes.they're not like the ones in the movies, and in most cases this occurs when the person allows them to control him.It is not like the ones in the movies of course,it is much different, and exaggerated there. But there are some true exorcisms performed and which were video taped anyways.

A possible reality of Demon Possession. For example, in quoting Sebastian E. Winter, who is a member of Bäumler's laboratory. How salmonella works: "Stimulating the host to produce tetrathionate enables Salmonella to 'breathe' in the intestine," "This gives Salmonella a tremendous advantage over the gut bacteria that must grow by fermentation." By stimulating an inflammatory response in the intestine, Salmonella also enhances its transmission to other hosts. The inflammatory response causes the severe diarrhea and vomiting that is the body's attempt to rid itself of the pathogenic bacteria, at the same time enabling Salmonella's spread. He goes on to say: Most of us have all seen The Exorcist. We have seen what demon possession can do to a young woman. Using the cross; the vagina. But what must be always keep our mind is that it was not the young girl committing this terrible sexual sin. She was a victim, not an actor. The actor was the demon in her body. With this firmly in mind, we can clearly see that demon possession is related to Salmonella and other pathogens. They make you do things, cause you to behave in ways that are favorable to them—sneeze all over the place, cough all over the place, and etc. It's not you doing these things; it's the virus or pathogenic bacteria. The virus that causes rabies, for example, deranges the mind of the animal, makes its mouth foam, clogs its throat and turns it into an ideal biting machine. It's not the animal that bites you, but the virus. The virus possesses the animal. Gu Syndrome was also thought to be a demonic possession in ancient times, with no microscopes to see the spirochetes, virus bugs, etc and the character/personality changes those infected can sometimes experience, what else would they call it? Some people, of course, could feel things inside their body and would say so. Back then, that would seem like possession. Okay, any thoughts to this POV about demonic possession?

Or perhaps psychotic-epileptic illness??

Based on what I've heard, a possessed person is very strong that even 6 persons (for an instance) cannot restrain the possessed and sometimes, the possessed extremities needs to be tied or something...

I would like to see this evidence.

He can be very strong yes, but that doesnt happen most of the times, except when the priest gets to the possessed, and mostly if someone who doesnt have any bond with God, try to perform the exorcism, as the demon goes crzy in order to stay in one's body.

Some can levitate, and carry great weights too, it just depends on many different factors.
