Factors preventing people from conversion to Islam

For us Jews, there's also the fact that Judaism forbids conversion to other religions. Even other monotheistic religions.

You know in Islam we have this saying from our leaders that "1 hour true thinking is better than 70000 years of mindless worshiping God". Is the forbidding law has been stated by Holy Moses or by his Inheritors? If they know they are in true way, why forbidding thinking?!!!

As an atheist who was once a Muslim convert, I have to say that (aside from my actual beliefs about the religion itself) the culture is hard to adapt to. It is radically different from the Western World, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But anyway, I decided that Islam was not for me, and returned to the natural state of atheism.

I practiced Islam for about six years. I stopped practicing Islam for the same reason that I stopped practicing Christianity. There is no reason for me to think that they are one hundred percent correct.

What was the reason that you thought Muslims are not totally correct?

I'm too lazy to pray five times a day and I'm too fond of drinking. ;)

You know, Holy prophet had prayed his daily prays in both 5-times a day and altogether manners, as Shiiate people in Islam pray their daily prays as 3 times a day. About the drinking you should be careful, maybe you'll need your kidneys to see your grandchildren!! Just kidding!!:D

You don't have to change your culture to be a Muslim. Our prophet Mohammed (PBUH) has said "Search the truth and science even if they are in China", as in those times, the China was referred to the furthest known distances in the world and also means the importance of understanding other cultures in Islam.

I see. Well, the question you should really be asking is - does anyone need help in converting to Islam?, not why aren't you converting to Islam?

You are welcome to believe in whatever you like, but have you ever been in a situation that had totally lost your hope to be alive anymore and I mean totally lost your hope?! Who have you think about on that moment? Douglas Adams or someone else that you may not believe in, but you may find it also deep down in your heart difficult to deny?!!

Of course I have felt totally hopeless. It didn't cause me to turn to an invisible man in the sky but made me realise I was being whiny and pathetic.

I was asking what are the important factors that make the Islam convert willing people be hesitated about, not asking for requesting help. Also I am not Sunni as I think you had previously converted to Islam-Sunni, and their believes are different to Shiite as you had asked for debate.:D

Why would you fill whiny and pathetic? If the world creation was an accident as some physicists and scientists believe in it, why weren't you created as a dust particle or a wood part?!! Don't you think this fine creation of your body and sole is due to a higher purpose? Maybe that invisible guy above the sky has really good plans for you.:)

If a puddle could think would it not say the same about the hole it filled perfectly?

I am sorry but the argument about the world being fitted perfectly to us is both shallow and wrong.

Atheistically
the American society like boundless drinking and homosexuality have been counted as a part of American society characteristics due to media propaganda during recent years.

is this based on ignorance to the american culture????

What are the main factors that makes non-muslims be hesitated about converting to Islam?

I: Propaganda of western media about the stereotype of Muslims with radical-fundamental attitudes?

II: Difficulty of avoiding most of the forbidden habits like drinking alcohol and ...?

Please share your thinking specially the ones who have converted to Islam or are willing to convert.:)
I think the biggest factor is lack of interest, plain and simple.

Yes I agree with you. These scientific-pretending excuses are the best way to deny God. The answer is in your sentence. Why the puddle can't think but you can?!!

We should ask who are killing the interest? Maybe the media. How often you have seen a Muslim with an explosive belt and not in the form of a university professor or a successful businessman? Why always Muslims are counted as radicals? What about that stupid american priest (Terry Jones) who burned the holy quran?

No, you should ask what you can do to spark more.

I'm not talking about Islamaphobia, I'm talking about apathy. Most folks just. don't. care.

You clearly missed the entire point.

I don't convert to Islam for the same reasons I don't visit astrologers, pray to Jesus, our visit psychics: I have no talent for confusing fantasy with reality.
