I have been blessed to have been with Sai Baba in His ashram for 10years. Many consider Him a fraud. Except: "Ramana Maharishi", "Aurobindo" and Anandamoyi Ma. All 3 spoke about Sai Baba as being the highest incarnation on earth ever. I don't hope the spiritual tradition of India is lost forever. I can't imagine God having taken care of India for thousands of years in so many incarnations would suddenly stop taking care. And for sure we still have the holy books. And they are the best.

I went to a famous Hindu guru in Malaysia who many people visit to for healing and to ask questions. I asked him about Sai Baba. He told me that Shirdi Baba did not reincarnate. He was very clear abd insistent about it.

True, Shirdi Baba did not reincarnate. Avatars don't reincarnate ever, they incarnate (take on a human body).

I believe the question is whether the person is a con man or following an evil spirit. It is easy for some to think they are being spiritual when the actual spirit is demonic.

I believe an avatar of the devil would fit that as well but there is no guarantee that the Malaysian guru was right.

8.352. Men who commit adultery with the wives of others, the king shall cause to be marked by punishments which cause terror, and afterwards banish.
357. Offering presents (to a woman), romping (with her), touching her ornaments and dress, sitting with her on a bed, all (these acts) are considered adulterous acts (samgrahana).

358. If one touches a woman in a place (which ought) not (to be touched) or allows (oneself to be touched in such a spot), all (such acts done) with mutual consent are declared (to be) adulterous (samgrahana).

359. A man who is not a Brahmana ought to suffer death for adultery (samgrahana);

364. He who violates an unwilling maiden shall instantly suffer corporal punishment; but a man who enjoys a willing maiden shall not suffer corporal punishment,
367. But if any man through insolence forcibly contaminates a maiden, two of his fingers shall be instantly cut off, and he shall pay a fine of six hundred (panas).

380. Let him never slay a Brahmana, though he have committed all (possible) crimes; let him banish such an (offender), leaving all his property
