Oh, there are a lot more but my brain is tired now.
Catch 22 is not allowed.
The book is doing a double face palm.
Really....Alan Arkin as Yossarian. The gods be angry.

Seeking the middle path..
Great list, but I'd add Glory, Das Boot, Cross of Iron, The Hurt Locker, 12 O'clock High, Three Kings and Tora, Tora, Tora.
War movies are one of my favorites (as well as Westerns). I was going to do a poll but there's far too many great ones to list. So list your favorite war flicks.

In no particular order.

- Apocalypse Now
- Saving Private Ryan
- Courage Under Fire
- Full Metal Jacket
- Platoon
- The Great Escape
- The Deer Hunter
- Patton
- The Dirty Dozen
- Schindler's List
- The Bridge Over The River Kwai
- The Longest Day

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
It's well rated and I have it on my Netflix list (although its not out on DVD yet)

Iron Sky (2012) - IMDb

Thanks, guys, for the heads' up!

These are two excellent war movies by the way (one is about the Cold War but hey, it's a war, right?):

The Lives of Others (2006) - IMDb

Black Book (2006) - IMDb

I found both of these movies absolutely riveting, and very very well done. Great acting.

The first one was very poignant and left me with a catch in my throat.

Oh, here are a few of my favorite war movie scenes:

Henry V- Speech - YouTube
Henry V's great St Crispin's speech

Apocalypse Now - smell of napalm - YouTube
(Not that I agree with Kilgore in this scene - but it's a striking quote)

Famous Speeches: A Few Good Men - YouTube
"You want me on that wall - you need me on that wall..."

speech from the movie "Patton" given to the 3rd army - YouTube
"No one ever won a war by dying for his country..."

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
A lot of good films here many that I watched. :0)

I also enjoyed Red October and The Bunker albiet the latter falls more into the horror category as opposed to a war film.
