Hi Hope,

I read your post just now on the above topic; I'm seriously 'with you' on this one.
In fact it enthused me to go and play 'America' by Charlie Rich; I don't understand Cajun though, I'd love to.
But these came out of the song
'Que lindo país, and Que Bella Terra';
The only reservation I have about understanding Spanish, as I do (not fluently), is that song lyrics somehow loose their magic when you understand them.
I mean, have you noticed some of the best Spanish songs seem to dwell on the next door's neigbour's donkey ?- Seriously, sometimes it's a drawback to understand them?

My favorite word in Spanish is "parangaricutirimicuaro"....it is the name of a small town in Michoacan, México.

Actually, I have no real issues with the festive season, I just think that Festive is a word that lends itself to an aggressive pronunciation. As in:
'Stop being so bloody festive.'
