Hi Hope,

I read your post just now on the above topic; I'm seriously 'with you' on this one.
In fact it enthused me to go and play 'America' by Charlie Rich; I don't understand Cajun though, I'd love to.
But these came out of the song
'Que lindo país, and Que Bella Terra';
The only reservation I have about understanding Spanish, as I do (not fluently), is that song lyrics somehow loose their magic when you understand them.
I mean, have you noticed some of the best Spanish songs seem to dwell on the next door's neigbour's donkey ?- Seriously, sometimes it's a drawback to understand them?
:jiggy:
Indeed, excellent point, Michel! :D

In Spanish, and in Portuguese, one could be talking pure trash, and, yet, to the untrained ear and mind, it would still sound beautiful......:p

I always said that about Italian. "Andrea Bocelli could sing about trash and make it sound beautiful!"

I always say that when people get random Japanese symbols as tattoos. Sure they say what it means, but unless you can read Japanese, you never know for sure. You could be getting "I'm a dirty tramp" tattooed on you and you wouldn't know. :biglaugh:

This is, of course, in part because didn't you, earlier in this thread, say another of your favorite words was "Backdoor"? Haha
Damn you are getting good:flirt:

One of my favorite words is a korean word. It is pronounced Boondingy. I'm pretty sure it means butt.
Favorite English words have to be perturbed, and kerfuffle. Skimmington is kinda fun too.

Mine is antediviliuvan,mort, coupling,jazzericise,ulvaian, venusian.
But my all time favourite is a made up word from me:
Glashing:1) seep down;2) moving fast

I took a long time reading all your favourite words, because I do love words. My concentration seems to be improving a bit since I've been on this forum!-another plus to add to gaining new friends!!

"Andrea Bocelli could sing about trash and make it sound beautiful!" -Susan So true!

perturbed, and kerfuffle. Skimmington is kinda fun too Master v; lovely

I like "sesquipedalian." NO*s -great!

Floccinaucinihilipilification C1 (I'm going to look that one up; I hope it exists!)

Netdoc; I haven't the lungs to say yours!

ones I like often are old English like natheless (Same meaning as nevertheless); Kiswahili Payac (Means any sort of white man's medicine from aspirin to ..well, anything)
Zungoulookou (Swahili again - phonetically- haven't a clue how you spell it- as in 'winding, meanderig)

Ascravellings van D'judesterne (Waloon for left overs - like when you cook a fantastic dish with left overs, and you know you'll never be able to reproduce it, because you're most unlikely to ever have the same lot of left overs again)

Pain Perdu (Lost bread - in French- is a dasert made with stale bread; it's dipped in egg yoke and fried)mmmmmmmmmmmm I'm salivating.......

I love making some up as well 'Testeronically speaking' - some macho male telling you where to go

Pheebop (a word I invented when I was very young- I can't remember it, but I was apparently told to put my toys away one evening by Mum; and she gathered there was one very important one I could'nt find; she helped me look (although she didn't know what she was looking for) when I suddenly stopped, and said gone with the pheebop)!
it's an accepted Hiernaux family word now !

Whimsical, intesterces, conglomeration, existentially, pulchrititudinous..........

oh, I could go on all day; better stop here!:)

floccinaucinihilipilification---i think that is spelled right.

Another word I like is masticate. It's really fun to catch someone in an awkward moment around others and announce to them all, "I saw you masticating yesterday!" It takes them a second to figure out that I'm referring to something besides the sound-alike :biglaugh:

My favorite word is Kawashocki. That's when you think you have finally found a parking place, start to pull in and there's a motorcycle there.:)
