john313 said:if it is true love then there is no reason to fear. if we truly love Allah, we would not sin, we would strive for perfection as isa recommended and know that whatever Allah makes happen to us is what is best for us. to have fear is a lack of love. to fear Allah for fear of hellfire or fear of not making it to heaven or any other reason is to be selfish, and to be selfish is to not completely love Allah with all the heart and soul. If Allah burns me in the fire, then subhanAllah, that is what i needed at that time. Allah's plan is perfect. Allah loves those who love Hu.
to truly love Allah we would think of Allah all the time and everything done would be for the sake of Allah, if everyone did this there would be paradise on earth.

The Truth said:All this brother john is a matter of : if ... if ... if .....
We are not perfect dear john, we want to be perfect of course but you have to face it, we are not perfect at all and God created and comitting a sin and repenting to him is part of out human nature.
Prophet Mohammed "peace be upon him" told us in the Qudsi hadith that Allah said if people on earth never did a sin so i shall create other nations who do sin and reprent. "this is the meaning of the hadith but not the exact one because it's from my memory".
Therefore, to claim that we should not fear Allah is to contradict what Quran and hadiths says about fearing Allah.
john313 said:so was isa telling us to do something impossible in the gospels when he said to be perfect? why would a prophet, the messiah, tell us to do something that is impossible?there is no reason to fear what we truly love, if there is fear then there is an absence of love. there are also many quotes from the quran that tell us to love Allah and that say the believers should not fear, but i see no reason to post them here. fear is only the beginning of knowledge, we have to move past the beginning or else we are only spinning our wheels. there is no reason to fear Allah if we do not sin, according to what i see in your lengthy post. there is no reason to fear Allah if we do not need forgiveness because of intentional sins.

Asalamu alaikum, Remeber the prophet said concerning the issues with the people of the book Do not accept it and Do not reject it. We only accept what is supported by the Quran it is the criterion of truth. There is no way to verify if Isa son of Mary pbuh said that.john313 said:so was isa telling us to do something impossible in the gospels when he said to be perfect? why would a prophet, the messiah, tell us to do something that is impossible?
when you were young when your father told you to do something did you do it? Why? Insha Allah you were righteous to your parents and you obeyed them. Probably because you feared the punishment. It is not Allah Himself we fear but it is the punishment from him that we fear. Likewise when a son obeys his father he does it because He fears the punishment his father may give him. He fears his father being disappointed with him so he obeys. if your father told you when you lived or if you live in his house that you would be punished if you did this and this and you did it. Are you suprised when you are punished. Did you like being punished. The punishment of Allah is worse than anything you could imagine and so is the blessing they are equal in measure. If the pleasure is more than we can imagine the punishment would have to be as well.there is no reason to fear what we truly love, if there is fear then there is an absence of love.
post them please along with the tafsir of the ayat if you can.there are also many quotes from the quran that tell us to love Allah and that say the believers should not fear, but i see no reason to post them here.
Fear is the the beginning of the mercy of Allah swta. If you had no fear a person may throw himself into harms way. Like for instance if you did not fear the hungry untamed lion and went in unprepared you could possibly get eaten. Likewise without the fear of Allah's punishment we would feel no desire to do what He commands. Why would we. If I pointed a gun at you and you had no fear of dying what are the chances you are gonna leave without getting shot. The fear is what gives us the motivation to keep away from harmful things such as sin which is harmful to you in the next life.fear is only the beginning of knowledge, we have to move past the beginning or else we are only spinning our wheels.
what do you mean hear exactly.there is no reason to fear Allah if we do not sin,
Brother we all need forgivness and mercy from Allah, How do you plan on getting to Jannah by your deeds alone. The Prophet saw said not even he will reach Jannah according to his deeds. It will be only from the mercy of Allah swta.according to what i see in your lengthy post. there is no reason to fear Allah if we do not need forgiveness because of intentional sins. peace
seed757 said:I'm not quite sure if a prophet, namely Jesus(pbuh), could have even possibly told those who followed him to be perfect if every prophet from Adam(pbuh) to Muhammad(saw) knew that only Allah is the only one who is Perfect. Which leads one to speculate that these statments could nowise come off the lips of Jesus(pbuh).
The implication of such a statement implies that he was lying, which I would surely not accuse Jesus(pbuh) of doing.
Fear is not the antithesis of love. Hate is. The opposite of fear is intrepidity. Meaning "flying in the face of" for example. Now I know the bible teaches "...come boldly to the throne of God.", but as for Muslims (at least for myself) we are to live a life of humility before Allah. This, IMO, is the proper station for all human beings to carry in relation to All-Mighty Allah. In short Muslims don't view Allah as our "drinking buddy" as it were. But as the sovereign Lord of all creation who is deserving of all proper esteem and admiration.
his statement telling us to strive for perfection fits perfectly with the teachings of muhammad and the quran.Mujahid Mohammed said:Asalamu alaikum, Remeber the prophet said concerning the issues with the people of the book Do not accept it and Do not reject it. actually i didn't listen very well as a child. but looking back i did learn that if i would have listened and obeyed, there would have been no reason to fear punishment. if i would have truly loved my parents i would have obeyed them, and i would not have feared them at all. parents are fallible though, so what our parents tell us is not necessarily correct.when you were young when your father told you to do something did you do it? a couple that come to mind are:post them please along with the tafsir of the ayat if you can.

if we follow the laws of Allah and love Allah, we will not sin and will not want to sin, therefore we do not need to fear anything. the sinners are the ones that fear.what do you mean hear exactly.

john313 said:Jesus did say that, denying everything that is not in the quran is a lot like those who deny everything that is not in the bible. i have never seen anything in the bible that sys we should "come boldly before the throne of God", what i remember of the bible says we should be humble, it is just like the quran, except the teachings of paul, but he was the antichrist, so i do not consider his teachings as a real part of the bible. i give esteem and admiration to what i love, not what i fear.

Now post the other side of the wing the punishment in hellfire and make dua to stay away from it.john313 said:The Rewards of Heaven
Many people speak of the rewards of heaven
They think of large mansions and dozens of virgins.
Feasting on the manifested flesh on the table
Drinking gallons of wine, they will finally be able.
Yet others speak of the feeling of being high
Similar to the earthly vision of the minds eye.
Lots of servants will be all around
You will be protected by a heavenly hound.
Oh Allah, I worship you and take this vow
With these words I speak here and now.
if my praise of you is for the reward
reject me please, keep me from my Lord.
If my praise of you is from fear of hell
Please send me there and burn me well.
If my praise of you is purely from love
Do what you will when I ascend above.
I beg you Allah, before Im taken higher
Strip me of every selfish desire.
Cleanse my soul of lust and greed
Anger and hate, I do not need.
Let my goal be the good of all
Remove pride and vanity before i fall.
Take away the difference of stone and gold
Remove the barrier of hot and cold.
Oh Allah, I beg you please
Let me feed the poor and save the trees
Oh Allah, hear my pleas
Ill spend all night on my knees.
I humble myself before the one I serve
Give me only what you think I deserve.
if my praise of you is for the reward
reject me please, keep me from my Lord.
If my praise of you is from fear of hell
Please send me there and burn me well.
If my praise of you is purely from love
Do what you will when I ascend above.
I love you Allah
I love you Allah
I love you Allah
where is the evidence for this. From what source did Issa say this.john313 said:Jesus did say that, denying everything that is not in the quran is a lot like those who deny everything that is not in the bible.
If it is just like the quran then why do we need the Quran.it is just like the quran,

john313 said:that would be the teachings of paul, which i exclude because he is the anti christ and was a great deceiver. jesus did not teach that, nor did any prophet.
Which gospels from what bible. what do you mean it does not contradict the quran.john313 said:it is in the gospels, i do not recall the exact verse but i can find it God willing if you need it, and i do not doubt that it is true because it makes perfect sense and does not contradict the quran.
the bible states Lot commited incest and is a drunk is this true. The bible says Solomon is a witch is this true according to the quran.the same reason we have the teachings of many prophets. everyone has their own path to follow. many prophets show the light in seemingly slightly different ways.
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. please give me the verse that says the Christians and the Jews will be fine on the day of Judgment. And they can follow whoever they want. Read surah Imran verse 85.according to the quran, the christians and jews will be fine on judgement day, they do not have to embrace muhammad, they can follow jesus or moses or whatever prophets they want.
So what is the falsehood then.the quran is the criterion by which all other knowledge can be judged of course, but the truth is easily distinguished from falsehood for those with eyes to see.
