Ferguson: Moving on..why none of this will mater...

Wilson was fired along with 44 other police officers from a police force that was riddled with racists and bigots.

Officer Darren Wilson Began Career At Disgraced Police Department: Report

This is what your source says:

The city council deemed tensions between officers and black residents so bad that it was necessary to fire everyone and build a new, more credible department from scratch.
Some officers from the disgraced department reapplied for their jobs. Wilson got a job in Ferguson, where he kept a clean disciplinary record and even earned a commendation.

I saw no reference to "racists and bigots".

There is usually a reason as to why there would be racial tensions between a police department and a community. And well usually that reason is you have police department filled with racists and bigots.

Of course. I don't dispute that.

But, I don't accept automatically without further evidence that the police department is "riddled with racists and bigots".

In fairness, I felt it importnat to point out to those who may not read the article, that these were your words and didn't come from the article.

But but but police are noble and virtuous! How dare you suggest some of them are thugs?

So the racial tension just came out of nowhere as if by magic?

Mama raised me right, I ain't no badge bunny. She told me to keep away from thugs like that.

I'm sure the six burly men who pushed their way into my home and brutally beat my lesbian friends up in my living room before dragging them off to jail without ever pressing charges were just doing their job, Cynthia. Tsk Tsk. And it's not weird at all one of them woke up in a cell the next day naked from the waist down.

Officer Darren Wilson Began Career At Disgraced Police Department: Report

It mentions fired in the context of 'disbanding' (as original article Huff Post quotes from mentions, I.e Washington Post - 1st paragraph) and theres a difference between that and firing someone for misconduct. Some police departments are disbanded for financial reasons. Seeing that every single officer was out of a job for the department you're referring to seems like a blanket decision as opposed to evaluating each individual, including Black cops which I assume had a good record with black community. This statement in the original article supports that view where it states, "everyone was fired because city council wanted to start from scratch."

The article you posted is a good start but why is there no mention of misconduct from officer Wilson, specifically? Did he kill anyone or have any civil rights complaints against him? Why is he on Ferguson police force for 6 years with no complaints, except for one debatable one 6 years later?

I hope their lawyers and the media came through for them.

A bunch of yelling. Know why?

I've seen it.

Your attempts at painting Ferguson residents as a community full of "criminals" is duly noted.

Not as criminals but as unreasonable if they can't think for themselves and consider all of the alternatives. Have these people ever thought of VOTING since they are supposedly the majority constituency in that city? Seems more reasonable to do rather than complaining that all or most city officials are White, right?

No no no, it wasn't disbanded for financial reason, it was disbanded over RACIAL TENSIONS, do you understand what RACIAL TENSIONS means or do I have to find an interpreter of whatever language you speak for you in order for you to understand?

First off, it doesn't take all cops doing wrong to flare up racial tensions. Just a few cops or even one incident can flare up racial tensions. Your article doesn't explain which cops and what acts were done to flare up racial tensions. Secondly, my point on disbanding was an example about how eliminating a police force can be done without misconduct being an issue.

When you can find me something that points to Officer Wilson's acts, rather than some generalize action of firing all cops which may've even included black cops, Asian cops, Hispanic, or interracial, then I will see some valid reasoning. Otherwise at best, all I see wrong here with officer Wilson is guilt by association or the wrong is an excessive move by city council members by firing all cops.

And this something that needs to be thoroughly investigated, for all we know Officer Wilson may have been part of the problem. We need to know exactly what happened and which officers were involved in exacerbating racial tensions.

So until we find out you're just going to continue on with your assumed conclusions?

She's not making assumptions. The department where Wilson started his career was so plagued with racism they had to fire everyone in it - including Wilson - and start from scratch to build a "credible" police force. It's a fact. Just like it's a fact that Brown was caught shoplifting on tape shortly before the shooting. Neither of them were angels. That is irrelevant to whether or not cops should be gunning down unarmed civilians in the street.
