Few reasons why Muslims should not celebrate "New Year"

Thankyou for the info..... :)
I guessed 'shi'ite' because of the mention of hadiths, which I always had imagined that Sunni Muslims ignored.

Got some strage ideas about us, some folks have..... :p
Sunnis do not consistently reject all Ahadith, not by a long shot.

If anything, they generally tend to trust Ahadith a bit more than the Shia.

There are Quran-only (Quranist) movements in Islaam, and it is difficult to calculate how many people they encompass, but in any case they are not that strongly correlated with the Sunni.

The name Sunni derives from Sunnah, the way/tradition of the prophet based on his sayings and actions. Hadiths are integral to this.

Majority of shia curse Aisha (ra) and the companions of the prophet pbuh. How can they be our brothers?

These are conceptual stories that happened long time back!

How does it matter now, unless you want to be stuck in conceptual boxes divorced from reality ! It is very similar to insanity and madness.

The only that matters is the living present moment, not the dead past !

Ruling on hating the Sahaabah - islamqa.info

As salamu alaikum,

The majority follow their Scholars and Leaders:
Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei of Iran issued a fatwa against cursing the Companions or the Household of the Prophet pbuh.

Shia Scholars have reinforced this ruling.

How it doesnt matter?

If a random guy comes to your mother and starts insulting her by calling her a wh**e, would you call such a person your brother?

Well for us Muslims Aisha (ra) and the companions of the prophet pbuh are more beloved to us than our own family.

They have certainly disbelieved who say, " Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment. 5:73
Christianity is not all about trinitarianism.

This is why I stated that most muslims have not completed the internal Jihad taught by Muhammad, which is far superior to the external Jihad.

The greatest Jihad is the Jihad against one's own self. - Muhammad

Those who have not completed the inner Jihad will live in the past or future in conceptual boxes divorced from reality, and will pick up quarrels for trivial reasons, wasting their time, energy and resources.

Those who have finished the inner Jihad will respond rather than react, and will live intelligently and peacefully nipping all conflicts in the bud itself.

Reference?

Imam Ja’far al‑Sadiq (a) said: “The Prophet (s) of God dispatched a contingent of the army (to the battlefront). Upon their (successful) return, he (s) said: ‘Blessed are those who have performed the minor jihad and have yet to perform the major jihad.’ When asked, ‘What is the major jihad?’ the Prophet (s) replied: ‘The jihad of the self (struggle against self)’”. [Al-Majlisi, Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 19, p. 182, hadith no. 31]

This hadith is not from the sunnah. This is what shias believe. In Islam the real meaning of Jihad is fighting.

In Islam the real meaning of Jihad is fighting. The prophet pbuh said the best deed is faith in Allah and to figh against the enemy in the battlefield. You should read the book of Jihad by Ibn Nuhas.

The hadith makes sense, because many other wise persons all over the world have said the same.

Let him that would move the world first move himself. - Socrates

A man who conquers HIMSELF is greater than one who conquers a thousand in battle. Buddha

He who conquers others is strong; He who conquers himself is mighty. - Lao Tzu

He who conquers himself is the mightiest warrior. - Confucius

Self conquest is the greatest of victories. - Plato

You make Shia Islam look real good.

I should think once Jesus pbuh returns, the majority of people will happily revert to the straight path.
Wouldn't that be Christianity? That's a little self-defeating, to posit that a man will come back from the dead well enough to slay all those who refuse to follow him.

But then, he would have to first come back from the dead. So spare us the veiled threats and fear mongering.

I should think once Jesus pbuh returns, the majority of people will happily revert to the straight path. Those too stubborn or proud can expect to fall on the sword of Jesus pbuh.

Luke 19:27 "But bring here these enemies of mine, who did not want me to rule over them, and slaughter them in my presence.'"

If there were no apostasy punishment, would Islam exist today?

1.) As Muslims we have our own Hijri calendar, we must reject gregorian calendar because it is not from Islam. The gregorian calendar was made by Pope Gregory (a pagan worshipper). According to our hijri calendar the new year actually begins on the first of Muharram.

2.) On such a day majority of people listen to music, drink alcohol and commit adultery.
This is a great evil and a Muslim should stay away from such things.

3.) It is against the spirit of Islam.

4.) What exactly is there to celebrate?
Thousands of Muslims are dying and starving to death in Africa, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq...etc and you want to enjoy your life?

Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know. 15:3

The internet is not from Islam, nor is electricity for that matter. Perhaps you should've relayed this message with smoke signals instead?
