Films from the past that could not be released today.

It's an old show and it deals with the subject of racism in a bad way (at times).
Its hardly old. For an example of old shows that may be offensive today, Love thy Neighbour, All in the Family, The Goodies, Get Snart. The "Carry On" series of films. Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie.

Depends on how you look at it. The show seemed to start in 1998. From 1998 to 2023.... that's a pretty good part of my life.

Does anyone else besides me remember Eddie Murray as Buckwheat on Saturday Night Live?

Speaking of Buckwheat, I'm sure that he and the Little Rascals would be shunned in today's society as well.
Otay!

Eddie also did a skit where he donned whiteface and went out to experience "white America", White Like Me.

All In The Family, Maude, The Jeffersons, Good Times, and Sanford & Son would never see the light of day if attempted today and Norman Lear would be run out of Hollywood and blacklisted for even suggesting them.

Yes, shows like that probably wouldn't fly nowadays. Perhaps M*A*S*H and possibly Hogan's Heroes.

I have heard people say that, but I wonder. How do you think Blazing Saddles compares to something like Django Unchained?
Only difference, really, is that one is comical and the other is action. Maybe we're ready for a faithful remake/reboot of Blazing Saddles?

No, never, leave it alone, never speak of this blapshemy again. Have you seen the White Men Can't Jump remake? It is worse than terrible the way it went soft and safe. Leave Blazing Saddles alone for the sake of all things good in the Cosmos.

I watched the film Airplane! with my son last night. During the scene in which Barbara Billingsley spoke "jive," I thought that this film most likely wouldn't be released in this day and age. Do you agree or disagree? What other older films do you think would be too politically incorrect to be released today?

Skin game with James Garner and Lou Gossett, Jr.

Family Guy and South Park are still on the air. I don't think those shows would have a problem.

Lot more violent, and not as funny. But there was that one scene in Django with the guys in the hoods that really reminded me of Blazing Saddles, the dumb racist bad guys, the black guy and the white guy as partners etc.

But I think my point was that if they could make Django Unchained they could make something like Blazing Saddles.

Oh my, did I say that!

Some rather obvious ones involving underage nudity and/or sexual scenes will likely not be made ever again - a typical example being Pretty Baby (1978), featuring a very young Brooke Shields.
