Florida Now Banning Dictionaries & Encyclopedias

I have a certain sympathy for those who think their school kids are just to young and do not want them to read some things. However banning George Orwell and Animal Farm is like a Putin/Kremlin stealth infiltration of certain states in USA.
We need to teach kids to be critical thinkers first and foremost. Banning books simply because they conflict with a particular political ideology is indoctrination.

Unfortunately, parents can get stoked up on false depictions and misrepresentations by their media sources on what goes on in the classroom. For a news source, the value is in getting people to click on a link or watch a report, so we are constantly bombarded by media scaremongering. Politicians then use the fears of parents to solicit campaign contributions and posture themselves as protectors of schoolchildren. We can't let hysterical reactions by some parents be the guide for materials that teachers use in the classroom. Most of those who advocate for censoring literature in classrooms and school libraries have never even read the materials they want removed. Although I'm not unsympathetic to the anxiety that parents feel for their children, we need to push back against hysteria and overreaction.

My question posed to you, that began our discussion together was, "What indoctrination? Of what?"

And these are the responses you gave me.
Now you say, when asked, that they have nothing to do with indoctrination.
Then why did you provide them as answers to my question about what indoctrination you are talking about?
When I answered them I clarified not all of them were about indoctrination but reasons for leaving. That is the truth go back and look. Your argument here just seems to be silly.

Kinda starting to sound like your worldview is just allergic to education.
Nope, I am for education. Me and my wife teach true history that is supported by good evidence to our kids. We don't play down slavery or internment or the treatment of native americans etc, We teach the truth. Schools have lost track of that in many cases.
