Having had a difficult few weeks I can tell you how much less I care about fairness. In Australia things are set up to benefit people who've had a bad upbringing.

We were robbed on the 12th of June. I lost my car and my laptop and the better looking half lost all her jewelery. We're fully insured but I was told that as a high income earner I'd never win a civil case against the people who broke into our house because they're "disadvantaged." therefore, I have to cop insurance excesses and loss of value to my car on the chin " because I can afford to."

I said to police all I want to do is recover the cost of our losses having to make insurance claims and the depreciation of my car. Apparently if you're a screw up from state housing you're entitled to more civil rights than the people who work hard to pay for your welfare benefits and drugs.

I love society.

We've been burglarized, too. Lost nearly all of our valuables as a result of no power in our house due to an ice storm. We left our house to stay warm at a relative's house, and came back to see it raked through by burglars.

It sucks. No justice done to those who invaded our house and took what they wanted. But we were able to replace our valuables over time. My advice is to focus on the fact that you're both alive and unhurt. If I had to make the choice between our stuff being taken or one of us being taken, it's obvious what's more important.

Well, that was a complicated attempt at camouflaging the real issue.

The wealthiest individuals earn millions of dollars per year while the vast majority earn tens of thousands (the median income is about $50K).

No matter how clever a fable you invent, you can't adequately explain why one person's annual work is worth $50K and another's work is worth $5 million. ( You can invent more BS which purports to explain it ...)

For every hour that they work before they go to the pub for a beer, man 10 earns $2000 while man 7 earns (say) $30.

That was not nearly so complicated as your convoluted fable was it ?

But then it doesn't need to be , because it isn't BS propaganda designed to whitewash fundamental inequity.

The claim that 'man 10' , the $5 million man, is the 'brains of the outfit' without whom we would all be incapable of producing anything is a steaming pile of elephant ****.

 :clap

Just today an advocate group turned my case for SSI because I work. Never mind it's very little work and what little work it is is difficult and painful, but because I work they turned my case down.
It really sucks that you must either be dirt poor or ultra rich or face the consequences.
