This is disgraceful really. All ideas should be open for satire. I am glad the article, and the French newspaper, are clear to put out that this is a minority group of idiots and not a representation of all Muslims though.

Whoever threw the petrol bomb is a moron. No question. I do however take the statement by the magazine that they did not intend to be provocative with a large pinch of salt.

More attacks?
Not this **** again.

You're right, though: everything should be open for satire.

I didn't offer any judgement about provocation. I said that I took the magazines assertion that there was no intention to provoke with a pinch of salt.

I think all satire is meant to offend and poke fun at someone or some idea.

Is satire that doesn't bite satire?
I wouldn't have thought so.

Sarcasm and Irony are two forms of satire which are relatively mild, but given that the pictures had not yet been published I fail to see how you came to the conclusion that they were offensive? but even if they were, what of it?

These people now represent the Muslim faith in the eyes of some, they do more harm to the Muslim faith than they do to the newspaper.

I have no idea how you decided he thought they were offensive.

Bah! I mike a satire of myself all the time, and I know I am not doing to offend myself :D

That said most people do want to offend when doing satires, but it just doesn´t neet to be "most = all"

I say we should proud ourselves of being humble :D

He said that the guy saying he never meant to offend should be taken with a pinch of salt, implying he did offend. Keep up.

That's a leap I didn't make :)
I don't believe the guy didn't intend to offend but that doesn't mean I'm offended.
If I let every eejit in the world offend me I'd have no time for the important things in life.
